i could just *imagine* how happy you are right now!
everything soudns so..perfect!..and then you’ll get rich, have babies, white picket fence, lahlahlah…..!

That’s fantastic!

(Jac) Both of you are going to be sooo BIG! I can tell, I promise!

My bf’s really good at computer stuff too, and he’s doing a comp. degree, but he said if it’s big bucks he’s after, he’s going to head straight into selling cars (his Dad is doing it now, so it’ll be easy to have connections), or do Forex Trading.

I’m supportive and all, but how I wish he doesn’t have such risky ambitions. A computer-related job at some big company is better, no? Hmm, anyway, I’m really happy for both of you! *congrats hugs* =)

Re: That’s fantastic!

My uncle sells cars in SG and he does *really* well, but the only problem with that is that it’s not as steady and income as working in an office job – there are risks and stuff like that. but if he’s that sort of person that doesn’t mind, then it’ll be good for him πŸ™‚

Re: That’s fantastic!

Yeah, he doesn’t really mind about that, I guess. (pss: I do) I like some sort of certainty and predictability in my life (I know, boring right? *lol*) so…o well, as long as he’s happy…

By the way, I read Chris’s LJ and he’s really sweet! Sounds just like the guy-version of you! =)

Re: That’s fantastic!

Well if it helps, my uncle has always pretty much done well and had a stable career.. so not too bad πŸ™‚ There are 1362362 different careers out there anyway, so there are heaps to choose from!

*lol* I’m not sure if Chris wants to be a guy version of me… he doesn’t really like shopping or makeup that much πŸ˜›

Wow, congrats!

My boyfriend used to work for CSC in London when he was an undergrad. πŸ˜€

Oh, and congrats on getting him to agree to purchase you sparkly shiny things on a monthly basis too. πŸ˜›

it get’s a little like that in IT doesn’t it? You plod along waiting for companies to pick you up.. and you’re either overqualified or underqualified. You go for the simple jobs because u NEED experience, and the non-graduate intake positions think you have too little experience πŸ™

I saw the ad for CSC too, it’s a government organisation right? That’s tres cool πŸ™‚ I have a few friends in government orgs and you generally get pretty decent pay + it’s sort of an unspoken rule that your hours are quite flexible. Congrats!

Getting a job and waiting for another one to clear is pretty much limbo too! But in this instance both companies are good πŸ™‚

Earlier in the year I had a job offer, and I was waiting for Cisco Systems to respond. I’d call them up every half week asking about the progress..

Cisco would tell me that they were still waiting for the positions to be created, and that my interview went well. Since they thought it went well, I declined the other job only to get a “sorry for not notifying you earlier, we’ve been pretty busy…” πŸ™

Boo to the small companies πŸ™‚ congrats to him again!

*whistles* Cisco is really good! So are you still waiting to hear their answer or what?

CSC’s clientile is 60% government, but I’m not sure if it’s a private or gov organisation.. but gov orgs offer really stable jobs and flexible hours as far as I know!

argh..

nonono this was like a little more than half a year ago… they told me to bugger off after telling me i did well in the interview haha.

And yes true that about government orgs.

Woooohoo! That’s excellent! I know JUST how you feel – my fiance just got a job too! He’s been working as a prison guard meanwhile, since the IT-sector is really low in Sweden at the moment, but will start in January as a systems developer for a big company. Soooo exciting! πŸ™‚

//Anne (on MuA!)

Cool, congrats to your fiance! The IT industry is not doing so well here too, my friends are all finding it hard to find a job :T Hope he enjoys his new job.. it sure will be different to being a prison guard!
