Having a car is great and all but peak hour is peak hour. It may not take you 1.5hrs to get to work but it still might take you 1 hr driving. Not to mention the cost of having a car, rego, insurance, petrol, parking, tolls, etc etc.. And if you’re under 25 as you are the insurance costs a lot more.
It’s great but it costs a lot of money!!

Yeah – the total cost of having a car is definitely going to be more than public transport. But I figure I’m at least sitting in a car in whatever temperature I want, instead of standing 3 hours in a bus, either too cold or too hot. It’s horrid standing when you’re in heels, or worse if it’s raining outside! I think my parents will ‘subsidise’ some of the cost if it gets too much though, so it’s not too bad πŸ˜›

3 hours commute time sounds horrible!! having a car is definitely a breeze…and a luxury. here in my college town we don’t even have proper public transport, so you either have to get your own car, or depend on the crazy cab drivers to charge you exhorbitant rates to get to places. plus you can’t even flag them down on the road – you have to call for them to come pick you up! and there’s not even a lot to do here..no shops etc to walk to!

Yeah – it’s especially bad having to stand in the stupid bus ;( I never got a car ‘cos I lived on campus so there was no need for one.. but now that I”m working, I find that I need one SO BADLY!

i hate not having a car here! back in sg i used to drive everywhere anytime i want. which means if i want to eat prata at jalan kayu or nasi lemak at changi village at 3am at night, it’s no problem! never got a car here coz i’ve been staying in the city all along so i didn’t really need one. but i’m definitely going to get one once i start working. then again if i find a job in the city i won’t need one. hmmm……

A car’s like a mobile phone – when you don’t have one you think it’s fine without one. But once you get it, you can’t understand how you ever lived without it! It’ll be handy for work, but also when I do grocery shopping and if we go out for dinner at night and stuff.. I just HATE walking especially if it’s freezing or sweltering hot outside :T
