Watched ‘Lord of the Rings – The Two Towers’ 2 nights ago and was bitterly disappointed. It’s definitely visually stunning, lots of big fight scenes (although I’m not a fan of fight scenes actually) but sadly it had hardly anything in common with the book. The battle at Helms deep is accurate and that’s about all. Go watch it by all means, but don’t expect it to be as special as the book.
(But then, I’m a big fan of the books, and I didn’t like the first film either, so I’m probably biased).

I really liked this! Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses, and Josh Lucas is very cute! I think it’s really funny…if Chris wants to go with you, he won’t be THAT bored. LOL. I took my BF and he laughed out loud at several parts.
As a native South Carolinian, I just ask that you dont believe that ALL people in the southern United States are like that! We are not! 😉

The media loves to perpetuate that all southern people live in trailers and are stupid, LOL. In the movie, you will see stereotypical life in her hometown in Alabama. Reese actually reminds me a lot of ME in that I, too, wanted to get out of the small town life and experience big things. you will love it!

i lovelovelove Lord of the Rings! but if i can give you some advice… if you haven’t read the books, i recommend you watch the movie at least twice. yeah, so the movie is 3.5 hours long (according to the extended DVD set) but seriously… you watch it once… you miss some stuff… you watch it a second time, you get what you missed the first time… you watch it a third time, you know all the characters by name and now you can understand the story. 🙂 i’m planning on watching The Two Towers (the 2nd installment) when the hoopla dies down. maybe sometime in January.

Because I seem to recall you posting something about the first one not finishing well, and saying that you hadn’t read the books so you weren’t sure if that’s how it was supposed to end. Did you start reading the books and become a fan after the first movie came out?
Anyway Two Towers is great, more superior to the first in many ways but there are a lot more story deviations which I wasn’t particularly fond of.

I’m in a similar boat. Pretty much ALL my hang-out friends are gone and my roomie is leavin’ tomorrow. However, the girl that broke my wee little heart is gonna’ be in town starting tomorrow night…pretty weird. So basically, friends gone and trouble in town…a scary holiday, indeed.
PS I <3 Australia!! I have a few friends who've been, but I haven't been so fortunate. I still think I may live there one day. It just so happens there are THREE books I want that are only available in Australia, too! :P

LORD OF THE RINGS is good. Its a definite watch, so you can get background if you plan on watching The Two Towers (out boxing day). Rent the DVD and watch it first. Though I havent seen it on DVD, I dont think it would do justice to the cinema experience though.

Lord of the Rings was absolutely amazing!! Even better than the first, which was also visually stunning.

Sweet Home Alabama is SO good…
I really liked this! Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses, and Josh Lucas is very cute! I think it’s really funny…if Chris wants to go with you, he won’t be THAT bored. LOL. I took my BF and he laughed out loud at several parts.
As a native South Carolinian, I just ask that you dont believe that ALL people in the southern United States are like that! We are not! 😉

The media loves to perpetuate that all southern people live in trailers and are stupid, LOL. In the movie, you will see stereotypical life in her hometown in Alabama. Reese actually reminds me a lot of ME in that I, too, wanted to get out of the small town life and experience big things. you will love it!

i lovelovelove Lord of the Rings! but if i can give you some advice… if you haven’t read the books, i recommend you watch the movie at least twice. yeah, so the movie is 3.5 hours long (according to the extended DVD set) but seriously… you watch it once… you miss some stuff… you watch it a second time, you get what you missed the first time… you watch it a third time, you know all the characters by name and now you can understand the story. 🙂 i’m planning on watching The Two Towers (the 2nd installment) when the hoopla dies down. maybe sometime in January.
i haven’t watched Sweet Home Alabama, but i will get it on DVD when it comes out. i love Reese Witherspoon.

I’ve read the LOTR books, big fan 🙂 I’m looking forward to seeing the new characters and the fight scenes in this movie! It comes out Christmas Eve here but Chris and I are going to see it over the weekend after that instead.

Hmmm, are you a recent big fan or have you always been a big fan? Because I seem to recall you posting something about the first one not finishing well, and saying that you hadn’t read the books so you weren’t sure if that’s how it was supposed to end. Did you start reading the books and become a fan after the first movie came out?
Anyway Two Towers is great, more superior to the first in many ways but there are a lot more story deviations which I wasn’t particularly fond of.

A recent fan, at least after the first movie! You have a good memory – yeah, I bought and read all the books after the 1st movie and now I’m really hooked.. I’ve forgotten quite a lot of the plot already ‘cos I read the books awhile back so I’m going to watch the movie then re-read them again. I’m watching it next weekend… the wait is agonising@
the hot chick is HILARIOUS. i loved it.. but it’s one of those “stupid funny” kind of movies. not as stupid as… say, “scary movie”.. but still up there 😉 haha. i loved it though!

Wow! Gemz? That seems so long ago.. back when I was a nutty little high schooler, hehe 😛 Anyway, I was in an agency when I was a kid, then when I moved to Australia I had pics online and photographers contacted me that way, then I was with an agency here, but not anymore. It’s a great way to make money though 🙂

I’m in a similar boat. Pretty much ALL my hang-out friends are gone and my roomie is leavin’ tomorrow. However, the girl that broke my wee little heart is gonna’ be in town starting tomorrow night…pretty weird. So basically, friends gone and trouble in town…a scary holiday, indeed.
PS I <3 Australia!! I have a few friends who've been, but I haven't been so fortunate. I still think I may live there one day. It just so happens there are THREE books I want that are only available in Australia, too! :P
