Believe I may actually be a genius, deep down. So after spending about 10 hours trying to get rid of the stupid virus, I did it. It was really hard because it was a tough cookie and kept hiding itself and also I’m on Vista (the eval version) which is a piece of crap, to put it really lightly. This meant that anti-virus programs wouldn’t work, I couldn’t install stuff properly to clean my computer, etc. But after an insane 10 hours of patience (ie. nearly throwing my laptop out the window), I figured out I had the Trojan virus Zlob. And I FINALLY GOT RID OF IT!!!! HAH!!!!! I’ll show you who’s boss!!!!
Now though, I’ve got all my files backed up and Dell is sending me a Windows XP cd (arriving next week) so I can format my whole computer. I’ve been wanting to do this ever since I installed Vista, but never had the Windows XP disc to. Finally took matters into my own hands and I’m going to get rid of Vista once and for all. Can’t wait to have XP back and on a nice, more stable system that doesn’t block every single thing I do. For example, Vista won’t even let me download the upgrades for Firefox or Picasa, etc – I mean, how stupid is that?!
Better yet, I got a license for Norton Antivirus from work – apparently all employees are entitled to it and I never knew. So once I format, my computer will be really secure and happy. And SO WILL I!

On the subject of Vista, I use it and loathe it. I’ve never seen more blue screens of death than with this piece of junk!

Well done on getting rid of the virus! Were you running any anti-virus software? I run Norton Internet Security and it seems to do the trick. I also run Vista and love it. The security features don’t really bother me at all. The don’t pop up as often as I thougt they would (like the Apple Mac ad suggests) 🙂

What? Trojan? I just scanned my PC this weekend and found not one, not two but four viruses – no wonder my computer was as slow as a tortoise! Anyway, good for you, you got rid of Trojan!! Also, great pictures!! I liked ’em all!

Good job on removing Vista! I can’t stand the bloated OS either – keeps prompting me if i want to do this and that.. its a giant leap backward despite their pretty not-so-WOW inteface. The worst thing is that I gotta lie and tell a whole auditorium how great Vista is compared to XP some time this month!! 🙁
