Pork Ribs Soup
Sian Tuan Avenue
Singapore
$—-

‘Bak Ku Teh’ is one of my must-haves when I’m in Singapore.. I only recently discovered it 1 or 2 trips back, which means now I’m always super-keen for it πŸ˜› So dragged everyone there after church, since it was my last day in Singapore and I hadn’t had it in the 3+ weeks there!! My favourite is the one just outside my cousin’s place, at Sian Tuan Ave. Named Pork Ribs Soup, at least it’s clear-as-day what’s on offer πŸ˜‰

Fortunately though, they do serve more than just pork ribs.. they have a large variety of dishes, which I never knew! Unfortunately, no braised peanuts, my favourite *cries*!!! At least the other food was good, so I was satiated :)~ It was around $30+ for EVERYTHING you see below, can you believe it?!?!

Pork Ribs Soup

Mega-sized iced tea and my local coffee

Spicy chilli

Pork Ribs Soup – ooooh lovely!

Fried Dough (aka “yiu tiao”)

Braised Pork Knuckle – so meltingly soft, wish it had more meat though, instead of fat!

Tofu – surprisingly good

Pickled Veggies – just discovered this dish too. All you need is this + rice = perfection

Fish Cake and Egg – found this a bit boring..

I forgot the name, some kinda Tofu type dish. It looked so ugly, but was tasty

Yet another Tofu dish that I’ve forgotten the name of. A bit strange..

*squeals* Scary Pig Intestines! I didn’t try any.. didn’t dare to :X

Let’s Chat!

Let's Chat!

I’m still more scared of the pig, haha! But at least I still ate both.. it was the intestines that I couldn’t handle :X

oooooo i love the tau pok & the salted vege. whenever i go to bak kut teh. i risk looking really cheap-skate cos i don’t eat/order anything meaty just all the side dishes like peanuts, egg, toofu & the likes with lotsa cut chilli (which is free…)*roll eyes*

Hahah I do like the side dishes too! The veg and rice is all I need.. and that’s sayinga lot cos i normally don’t even like veg πŸ˜›

*grins* well, what can i say..to each its own.. those bak kut teh uncles should learn not to stare at me when i only order the side dishes only…

Love all your food posts from SG!! πŸ™‚ I love fried dough and tofu! BTW, when you talk about the price, do you use the US currency or SG or AUD? just curious! πŸ˜›

That spongey thing you can’t name is the called Tau Pok!

Here’s a way to remember it for sure. In Junior Colleges all over singapore, they play this game where 2 or more people jump upon a unsuspecting layabout just minding his own business. the effect can sponetaneous led to more crazed freshies scream like crazed Freshies in heat. They then pile themselves ala pyramid stlye ontop of the people now laying on the poor bugger. Apparently its named after the way Yong Tau Hoo seller pile Tau Pok on each other to display their foodstuff. And some really do pile them HIGH!

Ya I’m impressed with this new Canon – it’s great for foodie pics πŸ˜‰ But I prefer mine for people pics – they somehow turn out more flattering!

silentjess:

hello! glad SG was foodie & fun event for ya, hehe.

btw, did u do something to ur brows? they look different. infact, more matured & sexy brows. i guess the effect they give.
i say that cos previously they were demure and gentle. hahaha..funny description there..hehe.

OMG I’m so excited you noticed!! I had them plucked, but I didn’t think people would realise it πŸ˜› Before I didn’t do anything to them so they were bushwoman brows, haha!

So hungry…. O.O

Those pork intestines look squishy! I thought you tried everything once, Bev? πŸ˜€ I’ve had them before – I can’t say they’re anything favourite but they’re alright…

DROOOOOOLS.

glad you had a safe trip backies hun! πŸ™‚
