quick question

hey bev,

this is totally unrelated to your post πŸ˜€ but i was just wondering if i could ask you a quick question regarding your time at microsoft. i did my work experience at microsoft in year 10, and i’m thinking of applying for an internship at the end of this year. what sort of internship positions were available when you went through? i.e., what sort of areas of the company did the other interns work? was it all sorts of places? i’m graduating with a ba(media comms) degree

πŸ˜€ thanks

Re: quick question

They have marketing internships, PR ones, IT ones.. I assume you’d want the marketing or PR ones? Check out microsoft.com.au and they advertise all their currently open intern positions there πŸ™‚

I LOVE the Acuvue Advance lenses. I had no idea contacts were so expensive in Australia… $38 USD? You can order them online here in the States for ~$19 USD/box… that seems a bit excessive overcharging!!

Ya they’re definitely cheaper at online stores, but when I buy it from a real store in Australia, I can claim in on my corporate health fund.. if I buy it online, I have to pay for it :X

oh yes happy chinese new year! We’re having a thing in chinatown here, it gets so crazy you can’t see anything just teh floor if you’re lucky. Strange how fat tuesday is the day before chinese new year, more partying for me!

Ya.. they’re chepaer in SG but not by that much! Lucky you πŸ˜› I get to claim 80% on my corporate health fund so it’s not *too* bad , but wish I could claim all, haha!

Wow, my boyfriend uses disposable contacts, he said that is mega-cheap. Can you email me the name or comment here with the name of the optometrist? I know its in Sydney, but we might be able to get a price match or something πŸ™‚ Thanks Bev xx

it’s FalconSight at Crows Nest, and the optometrist’s name is Matthew. And it’s for the Acuvue Advance, $50/box and I bought 6 boxes. Other places were at least $70!

Thank you! Would you believe though after you replied we had a hunt around the internet and found a website called http://www.coastalcontacts.com and bought Mark two boxes of his pref. lenses “Focus Night & Day” for around $130AU for two boxes and the RRP is $130 for one box even when you factor in the shipping charges!!! Needless to say we bought six months worth of supply when we found that πŸ™‚ You might want to check it out – I’ll let you know when we get our order.

OOps forgot to tell you about the online option too! I bought from visiondirect and they were super cheap, far cheaper than in AU. But I can’t claim on that – my corporate health funds refunds me if I buy it from a regular store so I gotta go down that path!
