She’s SO CUTE!
She really is! She’s adorable! And her eyes are blue when you photograph her. awe…so precious….and yeah they are like a mix of animals, smart like a cat to sneak up behind you and use the litter but then smart like a dog that you can train them to do tricks as well. totally OT do you know what an austrialian bikini wax is? Thanks!

Re: She’s SO CUTE!
😀 😀 😀 She’s just a little darling! I find her fascinating ‘cos she’s so small yet so much like a cat/dog – amazing how ferrets have the good bits of cats sand good bits of dogs 😉
Erm… I have no idea about the bikini wax? maybe in the shape of Australia? Haha, I dunno!

She looks so cute as she was sleeping. The bell matches her perfectly, too. Have fun with her.

I just got her that collar – to figure out where she is in the apartment 😉

I want a ferret so bad, but they’re illegal to have in NY :o(

Aww that sucks 🙁 Hamsters are banned in AU and I love em, so I know how it feels..

Why are hammies banned in Australia?
Poor little hams.

Re: Wow, really?
‘cos they breed too quickly and are a pest in a country where agriculture is so important. Rabbits/mice are allowed cos they’re already IN the country.. but for hamsters, they ban them since they don’t exist in AU yet..

AWW! I love ferrets, they have such playful personalities. Misty is a cutie pie. Ferrets love any kind of tube they can crawl through, if you want to get her a toy. 🙂

Yeah, she goes nuts over her little jingly ball! she loves those minteral water bottlecaps too, and yeah, she just burrows into anything 😉

It’s hard now that it’s Mon and I have to be at work when I want to be at home playing with her! Fortunately ferrets sleep 18-20hrs a day so hopefully she wont’ be too lonely!

OMG, I don’t wish to freak you out, but I just had a dream (a slight nightmare, rather) involving some cute, furry animal last night. Couldn’t figure out what exactly it was supposed to be, but I saw your pic. in this entry and went, “That’s the animal!!!” :O
Anyway, it was pretty scary in my dream, but your Misty is definitely ultra-adorable. 😉
Yikes, what a coincidence, haha!

That 3rd pic from the last simply does it for me. She’s cuuuuutttteeeeeeee! Uber cuuuuuutttttteeeeee!!
I gotta take better pics and ‘pose’ her 😉

bev, somehow i never expected you to make a ferret your pet 🙂 aren’t they awesome!
if you get another ferret, make sure you make them race each other! they run FAST!

Haha why not? I pretty much love any fuzzy animals 😉 1 is enough though, as my place is small and 2 is just too much to handle! Misty is an absolute sweetie though, so hilarious

lol, i used to associate ferrets with boys. everyone i knew or read about who owns a ferret is male for some reason!

Aaaw how cute! I always thought as ferrets as a bit scary but yours looks so cute. I saw a ‘ferret leash’ in the pet store when I took the kitty there last time, perhaps you can take them for walkies hehe!

Yeah ferrets really have a reputation for being scary devils, lol. But they’re sweet and feisty and so playful! I’m SO going to get a leash and take pics haha

OMG! She is soooooooooooooo (to the power of 1000) cute!!!!! I didn’t know ferrets can be kept as pets!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t even know if they sell ferrets in SG?! But yeah, they’re really popular in the USA, and starting to be popular in AU too!
posted on January 17, 2005 at 7:34 am
OMG!! that ferret is so cute.. i’m usually scared of them cuz they’re really hyper but yours is adorable.. i thought ferrets bite though.. i’m surprised your ferret runs around ur house.. i would be so scared! hehe..
Some are totally nuts! Misty is probably the most placid of the lot, and even she has her moments. But that’s what I like about them – how active and feisty they are 😛
posted on January 17, 2005 at 8:38 am
omg! i was at newtown the other day and saw some.. they were adorable! they were selling for 125$ (?) each.. is that more expensive? i was thinking of getting a ferret or a hamster..
posted on January 17, 2005 at 9:53 am
Hamsters are cute but not in the realms of cats/dogs.. in terms of intelligence and personality. I just wanted a pet that was more, ‘conscious’, y’know? A pet that could do tricks, was smart, etc.. 🙂

she’s so cute curled up in a ball asleep!!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE! so small too!

Yeah she’s only a lil baby 🙂 She’ll grow a bit bigger though!
posted on January 19, 2005 at 12:36 am
YAY! So glad you got one!!!! You’re going to have so much fun with her. A lot of people think their new baby is going to attack them when they start hopping around with their mouth open and stuff, but she is really just happy!! I hope you give us lots of Misty updates! 🙂 Feel free to email me if you wanna talk ferrets, LOL!
posted on January 19, 2005 at 12:38 am
Also wanted to add that she is SOOOO FREAKING CUTE! How could I not mention that the first time, hahaha!!
posted on January 19, 2005 at 12:45 am
Yeah, it’s weird how they play and open their mouths/nip! But as long as she doesn’t nip hard it’s OK.. do adults nip too or less?
posted on January 19, 2005 at 1:00 am
The adults DEFINITELY nip less, IMO! One of mine nipped a lot (and hard) when she was a baby and she doesn’t AT ALL now. I think it’s because they’re used to being with lots of other ferrets and that’s how they play. They will more than likely lay off the biting as they age.
I would think about getting another ferret too, but after you get used to Misty!!
posted on January 19, 2005 at 1:03 am
Wow cool.. so it’s just like a teething-puppy thing. Should I be training my baby not to nip though, even if it doesn’t hurt? Not sure if I’m encouraging her to nip, as we rough-play/chase..
How many ferrets do you have? got pics? 🙂
posted on January 19, 2005 at 1:11 am
I don’t know, I’m definitely not an expert but I’ve had them for a couple of years!! I tried to encourage her not to nip, but I bet she would stop otherwise. There are tons of sites regarding this stuff!!
Yeah I have 5! LOL! I think I showed you my pics a few days ago! Do you remember? 🙂
posted on January 19, 2005 at 2:08 am
oh DUHHHHHHHHH I got you mixed up with etherealprey – thought it was HER pics I saw 😛
Yeah i reckon i’ll let her nip a little if she wants, but if she bites hard then I’ll do the whole “NO!” thing.. anyway she doesn’t hurt and is just super boisterous, think it’s how she just likes to play! So funny when she bounces everywhere 😉

She is so cute! Congratulations on your new baby!! 😉
I’ve read in quite a few places that ferrets are best kept in pairs (see, eg, the Ferret Society website) cos they get quite bored and lonely if you’re away a lot during the day. I don’t think you need an extra cage or anything – so it might be something to think about once you’re settled in in your new place.
grrr stupid html. Just pretend there’s a < /a > in that comment!!

Yeah it’s kinda the same as with cats/dogs/most other pets, good to have a playmate. I’ll see though, as having 2 would be might be difficult, 1’s such a handful! 😉 I’ll see how she goes over the next few months.. if she gets lonely, etc
