FOOD, Food reviews, Food reviews - Singapore FOOD REVIEW: Strangers’ Reunion @ Kampong Bahru Road 24 February 2015

Strangers Reunion

Strangers’ Reunion is well known within the coffee affionado circle. Their brew is pulled by the National Barista Championship (two time!) winner Ryan Tan, and their cafe as well as food is total social media photo-taking magic.

Strangers Reunion

This is the sunlit and very charming interior, which is a little eclectic in terms of having a mish-mash of decor, yet it still works. It’s quiet on weekday mornings, but a bit of a madhouse on weekends.

Absolutely gorgeous coffee art on my Cappuccino ($4.90). What can I say? It was pretty luscious.

I can never seem to say no when I spot waffles on the menu! And they are a popular order at Stranger’s Union to boot. So of course, I got the Waffle with Ice Cream ($12.90).

It came out beautiful served on an equally beautiful plate. The colourful fruit scattered on top, plus the big scoop of ice cream, made the dish photo-worthy.

The waffle itself was good, but not something I’d go out of my way for. It was lovely and crisp on the outside, and soft and yielding inside… but the flavour didn’t have much oomph! It was actually fairly tasteless, but was saved with the fruit and the deliciously creamy and rich vanilla bean ice cream.

A bit of a food porn closeup shot of my waffle. Mmmm.
