Hunter, HUNTER, CARTER & CHLOE, School I’VE GOT MUSIC IN ME 6 October 2014

Yamaha02

Here’s Hunter during his Yamaha ‘performance’, which is actually kind of a silly thing for them to call it that, because it’s basically like a class on any other given day! The only difference is that the kids are down the front of the class (with their parents) most of the class, instead of just for about two songs. It’s pretty meh, IMHO, but Hunter did have fun, so I guess that’s what matters!

He does best in class with Chris, I think. It’s a bit of a write-off with my Dad (who actually paid for all the classes and the intention was for both of them to have a big of bonding time!), because Hunter doesn’t take him seriously and won’t listen (pretty much what every grand kid is like when with a grand parent that dotes on them!!).

With me, he’s ok, but the problem is that I have a bit of a short fuse…. so any sniff of him being a bit resistant to singing along or participating and I start going off the deep end and ranting and yelling at him. Which only makes him clam up more.

But with Chris, he sees it as ‘fun’ time, and Chris can get him out of his shell and participate.

I suppose it’s just harder when you’ve got a kid that’s innately an introvert, and prefers to sit by himself than jump RIGHT in there and sing and have everyone look at him! And because I’m not an introvert, Hunter and I don’t always see eye-to-eye because I don’t always understand his emotions or why he just won’t GET RIGHT UP THERE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! I mean, how is that not super fun??

He’s generally not always a show pony, I suppose.

The little one sat glumly throughout the performance. He’s not allowed into Yamaha yet, still too young. Next year! 🙂

I feel u about the kiddo being an introvert and i too get really agitated when she seems to be wasting precious class just sitting back n not participating. Daddy is the better teacher too as he knows what buttons to push to make her join in or at least follow instructions.

I get really agitated easily too, when I personally view a situation as SO fun and engaging, but my introvert kid doesn’t! It’s hard not to project…. something I’m working on :X
