Chinese New Year, Events A, APPLE PIE’s 2014 CHINESE NEW YEAR COLLECTION 30 November 2013

A, Apple Pie is a new-ish clothing line designed by, if I’m not wrong, the owner of super-popular online store Pupsik Studio. And for Chinese New Year coming up, they’ve launched a new collection of boys and girls Oriental-inspired clothing!

I won’t lie – the girls cheongsams are cuter than the boys shirts. Too adorable if you have a little girl!! But of course, boys get stuck with shirts and not much else, so I’ll have to make do ๐Ÿ˜‰

The new collection is made from 100% cotton fabrics with pearlised polka dots + contrast trims.. which means the cotton will be very wearable and breathable as the kids get *ahem* dragged around from house to house visiting relatives ๐Ÿ˜‰

I just can’t decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should I getย red +yellow trim, or turquoise + green trim for the kids?? I’m intending to get my kids all matchy-match for Chinese New Year ๐Ÿ˜‰ Possibly pair it with a pair of airy white shorts? I’m thinking jeans would be too formal and hot. Hmmm… decisions decisions!!

Psssstt! You can see the full collection here.

A, Apple Pie’s 2014 Chinese New Year collection will be launching on 2 December at the nottoobig boutique.
Sizes available 2, 4, 6, 8 years old.
Girls cheongsams priced at $69.90-$79.90
Boys shirts priced at $59.90-$69.90

Delphine: Yup. V. expensive fabric was used- it can be worn for evening too since the fabric has a sheen so it looks far from cotton-casual. I think its reminiscent of something very traditionalist but far from what you get in Chinatown-> I’m a huge fan of Shanghai Tangโ€ฆ. and the boys shirts are meant to look Mao-inspired but updated with a twist (Think thats what you mean by school uniformish!) Seen in person the finishing is top notch- and I love how the buttons of the boys shirt are hidden ๐Ÿ˜‰ Its a great compliment to Elly’s versions and I have a 3rd collection that I’m stocking thats heavily printed to round off the offering! Something for everyone!

I’m looking forward to feeling the fabric in-person! Excited after you mentioned Shanghai Tang… I am a massive fan though I don’t own much (so expensive, eek).

I reckon an Apple Pie shirt for formal CNY stuff and Elly shirt for casual CNY stuff would be perfect… it’s exactly what I am to do!

I would like the Cheongsam in a ladies size… teehee.

Ack what makes the shirts look uniformish? i don’t really know boys uniforms in SG so I can’t picture it. Maybe I should get the bright red version then, just so it’s obviously a going-out shirt ๐Ÿ˜‰
