Cartier, FASHION, Jewellery, Shopping CARTIER, BUT NOT QUITE 22 August 2013

Back when Carter was born, I reaaaallllyyyyy wanted the Cartier love bangle. Unfortunately, the plain version is now $8K and the half diamond one is.. I dunno… $11K maybe?? Just some astronomical amount that makes my brain go all fuzzy and short-fuse.

But, I still love the Cartier bangle. I sigh with longing and yearn for it every time I spot it, and I JUST WANT IT BAD. It’s been years, but I just still want it!!!

So I was really excited when one of my fave jewellery stores Hanna Lee (also a fave among all my girl friends) started stocking a bangle that looked just like it!

It has the similar heavy-weight of the solid gold Cartier version, the same shine, and the same print/diamonds. And it comes in rose gold, white gold and yellow gold too. It feels just so lovely and solid that I fell in love.

And it was only $68!

I thought that was a pretty reasonable price, because the quality is excellent. I like that it doesn’t bear the Cartier logo, because that would just be too much and… weird.

Unfortunately, their Small size is fairly gigantic still. But I sucked it up and bought it anyway because I like it too much. I can take it on/off without needing to open up the clasp! But at least it doesn’t fall straight off my wrist.. at least I hope not…

Mine is the rose gold version.. and I was tempted to buy the other two as well but resisted. A few of my girl friends bought all 3 and it looks fantastic stacked!

And these were purchased months and months ago, but I thought it’d be nice to add them here because they match – earrings from Tatty Marsh! They’re really solid-feeling earrings that also look like the Cartier ‘love’ design. I actually don’t think Cartier make earrings like these, but I love these ones because of the larger size hoops (great statement jewellery) and how sturdy they feel.

They’re my usual go-to earrings that I’ll wear if I don’t feel like putting on much jewellery.. because they’re so ‘obvious’ once I wear them!

I recently got these two ceramic stands from Typo. They were a bargain, I think a few bucks each? But in my favourite colour combination – turquoise and pink! I got them because they make a cute display piece.. and also because I thought they’d be nice to take photos of jewellery on 😛
