Australia, Family, HOLIDAYS, Merimbula POTOROO PALACE NATIVE ANIMAL EDUCATIONAL SANCTUARY 15 January 2013

Incidently, the name Potoroo Palace just makes me giggle πŸ˜› The animal sanctuary is located just a few minutes from Merimbula, and was an absolute must-visit for us because we wanted the kids to run around in the great outdoors and get up close and personal with the native animals. In truth, it was Hunter that appreciated it… Carter spent the whole time either snoozing, or being fascinated with the waving leaves/trees instead of the animals πŸ˜‰

Gorgeous views. How I miss them!

It was a delightfully warm and sunny summer’s day

At the bird enclosure with lots of very tame ducks and black swans

“Hey look, an echidna!”

Hunter, describing the echidna, “Poke. Owwwwww!”

Hanging out with the ducks

Patting Saphire the koala

Carter looking rather bored

“Doggy! WOOF WOOF”

I thought Hunter would be a bit nervous of the kangaroos that were bigger than he was. But was surprised when he went straight up and patted and fed them.

Lazy ass kangaroo couldn’t be bothered standing up, getting Hunter to feed him whilst he lounged around instead πŸ˜‰

Looking very satisfied after feeding each of the kangaroos there

Carter enjoying all the flowers and trees around him

Checking out the “choo choo train!” there, it offers rides around the area.
