FOOD, My recipes HOMEMADE FRENCH TOAST SERVED WITH BLUEBERRY COULIS 21 November 2011

I really like French Toast but it’s often pretty pricey at brunch-type places.. not to mention I know the ingredients to make it cos mere pennies to buy. Plus, you just throw everything into a bowl, dunk bread in, and fry! And I mean, literally.

Put 1/4 cup plain flour, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tablespoon white sugar in a mixing bowl.

Whisk in 1 cup milk. Whisk in 3 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract.

Soak a slice of bread in the mixture, then whack onto a fry pan.

Pan fry until golden brown on both sides

I also cooked up a fresh blueberry coulis to go with it. It keeps well if you have excess 🙂

Served with some coffee with Starbucks toffee nut syrup!

A nice, comfort-food breakfast that’s easy to whip up for the family. And costs helluva lot cheaper than ordering it in a restaurant!!

Yeah he puts heaps of sugar coz we don’t have it with any syrup. Usually just fresh berries and a light dusting of icing sugar over it for looks.

Now that looks so tasty. By the way Hunter is getting to be a big boy, we like watching him in his video clips.

I’ve that toffee nut syrup too! Have you tried using it in any baking recipes? I’m curious to see if it can be implemented into a cake recipe.. I’ve only baked twice in my entire life, so I’m kinda unsure..

Hi Beverly, on a totally different subject, can I send you an email on advice og buying a Balenciaga bag? Please let me know your email address if it is ok. Thank you.

Hi Lisa – you sure can, but just so you know I don’t authenticate or offer advice on authenticity. You can contact me on the Contact link up the very top!
