Ferrets, Uncategorized IT’S JUST SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE 27 April 2011

It’s been a month of big change for us. But one major, sad, change is the re-homing of Star.

Since Hunter was born, we’ve had much less time to let her out to play and dance around the place. It was really unfair to her as we felt she didn’t get all the attention she deserved, not to mention we plan to move to Singapore and they don’t allow the import of ferrets (ugh).

We were really fortunate and found a wonderful French family that were happy to adopt her, and it was such a delight to see Star running around eagerly in their place – she acted like she was right at home instead of appearing uncertain or hyper. She pretty much has free run of their whole place, so I know she’s delighted about that! We’ll miss her so so so so much (already do!) but we’re so relieved that when we leave Shanghai, at least we know Star is happy and safe.

And so, our chapter of having ferrets is over. We’ve had a brilliant few years with Misty and Star. They make wonderful pets and we’ll always remember our 2 adorable little girls πŸ™‚

Bouhouhou :'(

Oh my… So many things happened!!! U resigned from Ebay and now Star!!! I almost cried when i read this post :'( Must have been hard for u to leave Star in another family :'( But this is the best thing u could do for her :'(
Good luck with your new life as a STAM and in Singapore! U should have moved to Germany, here the mothers can stay at least 3 years at home with their kids before going back to work and can even decide whether they still want to work full or part time when they go back to work!

Re: Bouhouhou :'(

Yeah.. this month has been quite a busy month for us!
I’m so envious about the maternity leave in Germany.. the whole world should follow Germany’s great example!

Sniff. But the more impt thing is that she managed to find a great family who I’m sure, will love her as much as you guys did.

This is very random, but I’m pretty excited to see how you’re going to revamp your site design! Now that you won’t be in shanghai or have ferrets! πŸ™‚

So sad Bev πŸ™ but happily you found a lovely new family for her πŸ™‚

adorable

That photo of Star with the little boy is so cute! Great that you guys found her a new home. <3

Re: adorable

Yeah, she and him got along very well.. it made my heart pang knowing that when Hunter’s older he won’t even get to play with her! πŸ™

Wow, welcome baby, bye bye ferret! I think it’s important and insightful that you recognised Star could be neglected. Not neglected neglected, but you know what I mean. And therefore the most important thing you could do (and have done) is to make sure Star goes to a good family!

Yes fully agree.. I didn’t feel comfortable or responsible as a pet owner that we dedicated far more attention to Hunter than to Star, though I know it’s only natural. And considering we’re leaving Shanghai soon, we thought it would be best that we re-homed her sooner than later, so we’d still be in Shanghai should the new owners have any questions etc. It all worked out πŸ™‚
