Hunter, Uncategorized BABY SWIMMING AGAIN! 11 April 2011

Hunter had his 3rd and 4th swimming session this past week. At 11 weeks, he’s now 6.5KG. Weight-growth is slowing down – the nurse there said it’s because he’s exclusively breast-fed. Formula fed babies pack on the KGs at a much faster rate. Hey, that’s A-OK with me! As now he will normalize and not appear as gigantic compared to other babies his age πŸ˜› But people (including the nurses here) keep thinking he’s a GIRL!!! They claim his fair skin, big eyes, long lashes and smile lead them to believe he’s a baby girl – doh. Also doesn’t help that sometimes we use a pink blanket to bring him out in πŸ˜‰ Note to self: when out in public, dress him up in blue, blue, blue!

His weekly weigh-in, pic taken 2 weeks ago. Currently he’s 6.5KG at 11 weeks – normal sized!

Floating around in his tub

He got a chance to go into the big-boy spa! Normally only for older infants but
as he’s so, errrr, robust… the nurse said he’d be OK in it. He enjoyed the bubbles!

Floating away

Doing the doggy paddle!

YAY for clean, exercised babies!

β™₯ beautiful baby. love the pics! and the baby swim place looks cool. i wish we had one here.

when my older son was an infant, he was referred to by strangers as “your daughter” even though he was always dressed in blue, polo shirts, etc. i mentioned this to my m-i-l and she also said it’s because “he has fair skin, big eyes, and long eyelashes” LOL i was like “huh?!?”

now i have the opposite problem with my baby girl. oddly, i dislike the color pink, so most of what i buy her is blue (although i do make sure that they obviously look like girls’ clothing, e.g., dresses, things with flowers, etc.). she also has a boy’s name (jamison) which is embroidered on her blankets. now that her hair is longer, i’ve started putting hair clips on her to make it more obvious that she’s a girl.

Hehe hair clips are a good idea. I’m with you though – even if Hunter’s in blue people still think he;s a girl!

I think his chubbiness make him seem older, heh.

Well, I hope as he grows people think he looks more like a boy, lol!

Thankfully this pool is nice and clean, and kept at a perfect 37 degrees. I’m looking forward to taking him in an adults pool, but not till he’s old enough.

Yeah I hear theyv’e got them swimming things in SG too! But just make sure it’s warm and for infants.. cos they can’t go into regular pools (too cold)

seeing how much hunter likes this, i’m tempted to bring T to try it out. they have one branch near the husb’s office. hmmmm…

Ohhh yeah he’ll have fun! It’s also good for em cos it exercises their muscles and esp their legs. Specifically it’s meant to help reduce belly gas cos as he kicks and moves around (as opposed to how babies usually just lie around at home), he farts like mad and his belly afterwards is waaaaaay flatter.
