Hunter, Uncategorized HUNTER AT 8 WEEKS 22 March 2011

Hunter is 8 weeks old today. How time flies! This week is going to be a bit of a milestone for me, because Chris has his team visiting him in Shanghai and so will be out late on Tues, Wed, Thurs nights with them – leaving me A-L-O-N-E to look after Hunter during the whole day, and also handling his bath time and putting him to sleep at night. I’m going to find out what being a single mother would be like πŸ˜› I don’t think it’d be that awful… I figure the 2 worst things that could happen is:

1) Hunter cries incessantly – unlikely since he doesn’t cry often. He does fuss from time to time, but it’s always either because of hunger, dirty diaper, or tired. Once that need is sated, he stops. Thank goodness!

2) Sleep deprivation – every day at around 6AM, I pass Hunter to Chris who looks after him so I can have uninterrupted sleep. But since Chris will be coming home super-late this week, he’ll need maximum sleep so I’ll have to handle early mornings as well. Which means it’s pretty much guaranteed I’ll be a sleepy zombie all this week. D’oh!

Well……. I suppose I’ll just have to hang in there, because on Friday this week (March 25), we celebrate something very special. Actually TWO things very special – Chris’ 30th birthday, and Hunter’s 2 month birthday!! Yep, they fall on the exact same day πŸ™‚

His eyelashes are (finally) growing!

Looking rather shell-shocked during bath time

I think your son is adorable.
Also..I dont think that you will feel what it is like to be a single mum..just from some alone time. You still have the support of Chris, and knowing that he will come home. Single mums do not have that.
I’m slightly offended by that comment to be honest.

No, you’re right – sorry I annoyed you. I have no idea about what being a real single mum is like, so I was just imagining that for a fraction of my day (where I’ll be physically alone), it would be similar. But your’e right, knowing Chris will come home (albeit at midnight) still makes a difference!

He’s so adorable!! You’ll get through the week! I’m sure you will, just don’t fall asleep when you’re eating at the table! I actually did that once and thankfully I saved my face from getting a mask of masala on it! LOL!

even lying down next to him (and surfing the web on lappie/phone) works. just to give yourself a break.

he’s so nommable! hamhock legs!

psst i added u on twitter.

I remember the arrival of the eyelashes! Hunter looks really adorable in the 1st pic. So pink and chubby! How long more is your maternity leave going to be?

Yeah their eyelashes magically appear out of nowhere when they are around 2 months old! Will you be getting some help to watch H when you go back to work?
