Friends, Parties, Uncategorized DRINKS @ COTTONS 14 May 2010

A whole bunch of us womenfolk descended upon Cotton’s on Anting Lu on Wed night for a girly meet up and Happy Hour drinks. It was quite a sight, about 20 women yakking away in Cotton’s lovely outdoor terrace! I think we must’ve drawn a lot of stares πŸ˜‰ Strangely, most of the other patrons there were on dinner dates. I find it quite odd because 1) it’s not romantic at all and 2) it’s not the place you go for fantastic food. Don’t get me wrong, Cotton’s is a fab place to chill out with friends for drinks, but I definitely don’t consider it an impress-your-date-in-fine-ambience type of place. Plus, we probably disrupted their dates ‘cos we were so noisy – oops πŸ˜›

Most of us had dinner there, and whilst their food isn’t top quality, I LOVE the large-ish portions. If you polish off your plate + a half a bowl of fries + dessert, chances are you’ll be full. At least I was! It was fantastic how they didn’t carefully count/measure out their portion sizes, and for that Cotton’s gets a massive thumbs up. I really love their big bowl of fries, enough to share between 2 people. Would have preferred if it also came with an aoli dip as well as tomato sauce, though.

My chicken cordon bleu was very decent. Someone else ordered it and found it dry, but mine was fine. It was very thin though, and I would’ve preferred it much plumper, but the oozy gooey cheese was delicious and the breaded crumbs were well done.

The service at Cottons was excellent. Considering we were messy and boisterous, all the staff were really patient, polite and accommodating. So impressed! And they remembered EVERYTHING.. even when I asked for complimentary water, and when we asked for “fapiaos” (receipts), etc.

It’s a great place especially when the weather’s nice outside. Their courtyard is perfect for kicking back for a drink, and it’s a fun place to hang out with friends.

I love this pic of my lovely gfs and I. Co-incidentally, we ALL wore stripes, haha!

The master of cheesy grins

Me and a (hilarious) online girl friend, Little Miss red hair & green eyes πŸ˜›

Now all 4 us are coordinated in USA flag colours, haha

Giant chicken sandwich. Love how utterly it looks shrouded in the dark

A veggie pizza. Stole some and it was yum! Decent size, enough to fill 1 person

A BIG ASS bowl of fries that I shared with a friend. I also learned that a splash
of Tabasco sauce in tomato sauce is absolutely deeeeelicious.

Chicken cordon bleu!

Very pleased with our big portions

Fish & chips – tastes better when hand-fed with love πŸ˜›

Love all the dark framing and soft lighting.. makes our skin look nice πŸ˜‰

The girls with our boxing trainers. Everyone looks so tall here!

Just being really random

It was one-for-one Happy Hour! We were happy indeed.

My tasty “Cottons Gin” cocktail. It was pretty potent…

B52 shots for us. Apparently you light ’em on fire before drinking, I never knew that?!

Doing shots: you’re doing it wrong

Pretty ladies! Except that one making faces πŸ˜‰

I’ve heard many great things about Cotton’s! Though obviously I’m too young to go there for drinks. This looks like an awesome night, though! πŸ˜€ At what age did you start partying/clubbing?

I was a late starter πŸ™‚ I wasn’t interested in drinking and partying until 18 when I moved to college!
