Fitness, Friends, Uncategorized POLE DANCING CLASS PHOTOS 23 April 2010

So I made a post about our pole dancing classes but that had crappy photos of us. Last week, we had Urbanatomy come to our class since they were going to do their write up on it, and we also had the amazing Elena Savelieva photograph us. And boy, did she do a good job! Granted, she took hundreds of photos to get a few where we weren’t either 1) going in all different directions or 2) showing pained/strange looks on our faces πŸ˜› But still, her camera is fantastic and the photos look really good. We honestly look like we know our stuff!

So here are more photos, of us in motion and whizzing around. I’m a bit miffed at how it looks so simple in the photos.. when in reality we were struggling and huffing away and falling flat on our asses all over the place πŸ˜› Ahhhh the magic and trickery of photography πŸ˜‰

All photo credit goes to the talented Elena!

Streeeetching before class to warm up

Whizzing round!

Our (tiny) instructor Adel

Looking strange sticking my ass out πŸ˜‰

Hanging out like monkeys!

Every one doing a completely different thing, haha

This is my worst move, I can’t quite seem to get it right

Chilling out. Nah just kidding, this was mad difficult!

Very un-classily falling down πŸ˜‰

Collapsed πŸ˜› Now just gotta figure out a dainty way to get up!

Sadly, pole dancing is no more, at least for now. The locals in the area saw us going in/out of the building and didn’t like to see foreigners in THEIR area. So they called the police and the police raided the studio, taking everything away. Yeah, I was in freakin’ DISBELIEF when I heard about it too. If white Australians had gathered together and called the police saying “We don’t want to see Chinese faces in our area, come get rid of them” there would be an absolute RIOT. But somehow it’s okay here. Oh well…….. part of the charm of living in China! πŸ˜›

the photos are awesome and it looks mad effortless but check out the muscles on all you babes! hard work i believe! pity they raided the place!

Yeah, it’s so sad! But we’re likely to move into a studio in an actual gym, so at least it’ll be ok then πŸ™‚

Hehe it’s funny cos at that moment, I was wondering exatly how to get up without looking all klutzy πŸ˜› Looks nic when I’m just sitting there tho!

Looks like fun but I definitely won’t be able to do those because I have no strength whatsoever in my arms!

And it’s absolutely ridiculous that they shut it down!!

I’m like you – with zero arm muscles, and I was bad at the start but then you learn/build up strength pretty quickly!

You young people your filthy modern ways… Pole dancing is the devil!! Back in my day we pushed hoops with a stick… Good clean fun it was.

Pffft… youngsters these days with their poles and sinful shenanigans…

wow, looks like so much fun! i heard pole dancing is actually really hard, though. :S

it’s so unbelievable about the police, though. (sigh, chinese)

Yeah it’s a LOT more difficult that it looks.. requires so much strength. THe 1st time I was so sore afterwards I couldn’t stand/sit properly, lol

you look like a pro!

I can’t believe the police raided the studio just becuase they didn’t like foreigners there. What was the reason for them taking everything away? It’s illegal to pole dance in China?

Crazy huh?! It’s not even cos of the pole dancing part (I don’t think they even know what those metal poles are for LOL), but the fact they didn’t like seeing foreigners in their area. Freakin’ insane..
