Uncategorized, Wedding WEDDING: part 4 – “going to the chapel and we’re.. gonna get married” 21 December 2009

After all of us had some snacks and drinks, everyone else was hustled off to Church. This was about 10-ish in the morning.. crazy to think that so much had already happened and it was still morning! Whew.

Dad and I left last in the bridal car, so no one would see me in my gown. It was very surreal, that journey to the Church, wearing my bridal gown and holding onto Dad’s hand.. knowing that shortly I’d be married. What did I think about during the ride? Not much at all.. I was in an alternate universe, I think. And the rest of the time, I was doing last-minute recitations of my wedding vows – because Chris and I decided to memorise them (!). Note to self: VERY DIFFICULT to memorise and recite vows when you’re so emotional and up on stage with everyone looking at you.

Our church

Main flowers at the front

Champagne-gold/cream and green were our colours

The church was totally decked out with fresh flowers and leaves – I loved it πŸ™‚

Stained glass windows

Adorable flower girl and page boy

Clutching the pillow with our rings πŸ˜›

Chris has a little time-out chatting with his grandma
whilst waiting for the ceremony to begin

We arrived at the Church… our pastor said a quick prayer…. Mum and Dad lifted my veil to cover my face… and suddenly: there I was, standing just outside the Church doors holding onto Dad’s hand. It seriously happened as quickly as that. I didn’t have time to put on lipgloss, didn’t have time to collect my thoughts, before the processional song “Trumpet Voluntary” started up.

Just having stepped out of the car

Mum and Dad putting down my veil. Isn’t the colour of Mum’s dress gorgeous?!

Holding onto my Daddy πŸ™‚

A full row of Swarovski crystals hand-sewed into the back of my gown – I loved this πŸ™‚

“Trumpet Voluntary” – the song I walked in to

Wow….
THIS WAS ACTUALLY REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN.

You look amazing πŸ™‚ Loving all the posts!
Out of curiosity, if you left last from the house to avoid anyone else from seeing you in the gown – did your mum manage to help you into your wedding gown? Only asking as usually the gowns are so tight & heavy, it took 2 people to zip me up into mine!

You look so breathtaking!

I also can’t believe you guys had memorized all of that. I realized you had when I was watching the video clip. I could barely get out the words when our pastor recited them for us to repeat during our wedding. But with it memorized, it did make it just the slightest bit more classy and elegant. πŸ™‚

It was VERY hard to memorize our vows..! not so much the actual memorizing, but having to recall it all when we’re up in front of everyone is *nerve-wrecking*, eek!
