eBay is organising a team of us and we’re also going to be raising money for charity… which is about 80% of the reason why I wanted to do it. As you probably know, I’m quite lazy and would much prefer sitting my ass on the couch getting fat, rather than run. But eBay’s going to get us to receive donations and they’ll go to charity – to help out orphans in China. So I decided I HAVE to do it now 😛
It is HARD running outside in Shanghai. The roads aren’t smooth/flat, they’re really dusty and dirty, and the air is really polluted. So it’ll be a huge challenge for sure. I’m going to do the 21KM run, the half-marathon. Not the full one ‘cos I’m not allowed as I have a bad knee (after I dislocated it a few years back, it never quite healed despite months of physiotherapy). Not sure if I can even do the 21KM but I will try!!
Anyway, we had our 1st training run over the weekend.. and I dragged Chris along, heh. We ran 8KM! It felt awesome. We were actually meant to do 6KM, but then I insisted I wanted to run another round (which is 2KM) and so everyone else had to jog too, *lol*! I felt bad forcing everyone to do that.. but we all did it so yay 🙂
Our running group! Rex the trainer is on the far-left of the pic –
he ran 10KM to the gardens, then another 8KM with us *mind boggles*
Reaaallllyyy unattractive pic of me nearing the ‘finish’ line, 8KM later! *sweats*
YAY!!!!!! We did it!
Stretching afterwards. Can you spot Chris and I? 😛
Really really really cute pic of Chris
