Hong Kong, Uncategorized HONG KONG – BLITZING THROUGH 22 June 2009

Big backlog of posts! Anyway, flew into Hong Kong last week for a work blitz. 2 days jammed with work and deliverables and meetings, but we covered quite a bit so it was satisfying. Sadly, pretty much no shopping whatsoever… except for the frantic shopping I did on-board the plane, and also at the airport whilst waiting for my flight πŸ˜› A shame, because Hong Kong is shopping central and has so much stuff you can’t get in Shanghai. Doh!!

I adore Hong Kong. It’s bright, it’s vibrant, there’s fab shopping, and even better eating!

Cathay Pacific’s Business Class lounge – tres nice!

‘Dan dan’ noodles, soft noodles in a creamy spicy broth.
Mannnnnn this was good. Had to go back for another bowl πŸ˜›

On the plane and snacking on (yummy) roasted almonds

Smoked peppered tuna nicoise salad with tonnato dressing
Mixed salad with roma tomato, Parmesan cheese and pine nuts

Grilled barramundi with lemon cream sauce, black truffle mashed potatoes, grilled capsicum and French beans

Truffle!

Espresson truffle cake with mascarpone cream and fresh vanilla sauce

Did some “onflight shopping” and bought this cute Cath Kidston necklace

Hotel Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong

My morning view. Hello concrete jungle!

Technically I haven’t gone out of the airport at Singapore, but judging from the airport it’s just as lovely and accessible as Hong Kong so I’m SUPER excited. Any quick recommendations on what I should do while I’m in Singapore for 3-4 days? I see there’s something called the Night Safari- is that worth going to or more just a touristy gimmick thing (something I’m all too used to seeing having grown up in Hawaii) πŸ˜›

SG is looovely, similar to HK – but different food. Food everywhere is great, and ya, Night Safari is cool so you’ll like that. GO clubbing at CLarke Quay!

What a small world! Yeah the location is super.. just that this time I didn’t have ANY time to check out the shops there, boo!

damn… I wish I wasn’t doomed to fly Qantas business all the time.. that Cathay seems soooooooo much better. Have you been to the One World lounge in Sydney? It stinks of mouldy cheese πŸ™‚

No way, Qantas business is way way way better than Cathay’s! well, actually, that’s cos I was on Cathay’s short flights.. Cathay’s business is also pretty awesome on long haul flights. i don’t think i’ve been to that Sydney lounge tho, but now i’m glad i haven’t.. teehee!

It was! We were there celebrating my cousin’s 30th, hehe. Chris was there too, hope none of us was doing anything weird! πŸ˜›

No worries.. in fact you guys make a gorgeous pair

Actually what caught my attention were your Mum and (i think) your aunt. They were walking infront of you guys and i think both of them look incredibly well-maintained for their age! Nice clear skin, perfect hair and very elegant! (:

Ah.. theres something really endearing about HK’s concrete jungle isn’t it? I love Felix at Peninsular Hotel…my very first business trip was to HK and i remember how in awe i was of the vibrancy there.
