Me, Uncategorized ME IN PRINT (AND TV) 7 May 2009

Publications (print media) I’ve appeared in…………….:

1) Straits Times (Singapore) – print ad for ‘back to school’ campaign
2) PC World (Britian) – feature on my old website for teen girls, gemz.net
3) Cosmopolitan (Australia) – for Calvin Klein underwear
4) New York Times (USA) – feature on my Swap Organiser website, back in my cosmetics-obesessed days
5) Slimming & Health (Australia) – featuring me rambling on about my fitness (or lack thereof)
6) Cleo (Singapore) – featuring me rambling on about cosmetics/skincare
7) City Weekend (Shanghai) – me rambling on about food

Ummm that’s all I can think of for the moment. I’ve posted about most of them at some point, so can’t be bothered looking for those posts and re-blogging the snapshots of ’em πŸ˜› Anyway, decided to keep a record of this kinda stuff, because I’ve recently popped up in City Weekend magazine (thanks !). Nothing amazing, just a teeny tiny blurb on a restaurant review in Shanghai.

I was going to say that the above stuff is my 15 Seconds of Fame, but it’s not even that.. it’s more like my 1 Second of Randomness. Haha! It’s nothing special or anything out of the ordinary, but it’s still quite fun πŸ˜› If I wasn’t doing what I’m doing, I think I’d be a Food Critic. Or an editor in a food magazine. Well, whatever job really that will pay me to eat my way through life πŸ˜›

Anyway, this is the most recent one, in City Weekend:

Tonight, the “Culture Matters” talk show airs – the one where I appeared on. It’s just a 30min talk show, nothing earth-shattering. If anything, it’s going to be acutely embarrassing because I didn’t really say anything of interest or worth on it – d’oh! It’s tough to be engaging on-the-fly and I just didn’t have much to talk about, to be honest.

Anyway, the “Culture Matters” blog put a little blurb about tonight’s show:

“Can A Successful Career Woman Also Cook?

Capable Beverly Chua came from Australia to Shanghai to work. Nowadays, females are capable of being remarkable like men, but have to work harder for it. Although both are “successful career women”, Beverly and Vogue’s Angelica Zhang opinions vary, they both wish to be an elegant and virtuous wife and chef.”

OK that was just me using a translation software, which is why it sounds a bit weird!

It airs tonight 7 May 2009, 7:30pm, on ICS (International Channel Shanghai), which I believe is available on some satellite TV in the USA and around the world. So if you can find it, tune in, and don’t cringe TOO much! πŸ˜›

I’m sure Chris is very excited about getting a very virtuous wife … How did they get your review? Surely they can’t publish your writing without your permission? You could sue for that …?

Yeah I love the translation into “virtuous”… ROFL!!!! Good for angelic me right πŸ™‚
Ahh the review was online and I reckon once you post it online on their site they have rights to put it in their mag, or something

Oh yeeeesss I didn’t think about the travel writer , or hosting a travel program – now that’d be sweet!
