Gahh!!!!! I have found my favourite movie (right up there alongside Clueless).. it’s TRANSFORMERS.
Originally did not intend to watch it in the cinemas, since I didn’t expect it to be a great movie. So after my friends all watched it one-by-one, and kept raving about it, I just had to check it out myself. The movie is soooooooooooooo good!! Easily one of the best movies. Was totally engaging and exciting right in the first 5 minutes and I just had a perpetual grin on my face the entire time. It has everything I love:
Great plot? Check.
Loads of action? Check.
Awesome special effects? Check.
Sci-Fi? Check.
Hot girl? Check.
Hot guy? CHECK CHECK CHECK!
Awesome, awesome movie. There was not one single bad bit. But the coolest part? The eBay references!! Very cool how eBay was an integral piece in the plot, it really made me feel like running back home and surfing eBay 😉 Plus our eBay ad was shown before the movie, which was even better. We even have an eBay Transformers hub where you can bid on the movie props, etc. So so cool. If you haven’t already seen the movie, GO SEE IT, you crazy person!!

Dinner was a quick one before the movie. Pepper Lunch recently opened in Sydney. I’ve seen it in Singapore but never got around to eating there. Which annoys me now, because the place is great!! Cool concept – the ingredients come sitting on a sizzling hot plate, circled around a large mound of rice, topped with a dollop of ‘special butter’, corn kernels and shallots. Pretty unique. According to the instructions and thanks to the help of our friendly waitress, she showed us how to mix all the ingredients in together whilst they sizzled on the hot plate. Then you just gobble it all up!
The downside is that it’s pretty pricey considering you get very very little meat, so you’re expected to fill up on the rice instead. The amount of rice is fine, but they need to double the portion of meat to make it more worth the price. On the plus side, they have rotating specials every day, and that particular day they had “ladies get 10% off”. Cool! I thought the Beef Pepper Rice was nice, all meaty and peppery. But I preferred the Salmon Pepper Rice because I’m always a sucker for salmon. It was divine :)~ Also shared a Corn Soup that came thick with blended corn and nice and creamy. Mmmmmmmm….
A very nice place, with a fun ambience and friendly staff. Just either lower the prices by $3, or double the meat portions, and you’ll have a winner!

Transformers was good? Some of my friends said it was good so we got together for a good girly sleepover and watched it. Didn’t manage to watch the entire thing cause we got too chatty, and I was finding it a little dull. But crappy pirated copy didn’t help so maybe that’s why I was lacking enthusiasm.

Transformers… Another reminder of how token comic relief is NOT needed in the movie for the pure sake of mass appeal!
Lesson a) Young hacker geniuses are so passe
Lesson b) Token silly characters to provide comic relief are just that… silly
Lesson c) Even a good joke gets tiresome when its stretched out for 10mins
Lesson d) There is no excuse for no nudity in a movie
Those flaws asides, yes, awesome movie!

I have to say I don’t really like Pepper Lunch. Last time I also had their Beef Pepper Rice and I think the beef was not really tender. I could definitely get a more decent and delicious meal for the price…
Agree, the salmon was WAY nicer than the beef imho, but at AU$11.90, it’s still not worth it :X A shame because I really liked the salmon rice!
