Lindt Concept Store and Cafe
Level 1, 53 Martin Place
Sydney, NSW 2000
$$$–

Organised a Friday lunch with the girls at Lindt Cafe. Who would say no to some great food and even better desserts? No one, that’s who πŸ˜‰ Ridiculously we endured the rain and wind to walk there. I don’t mind any kind of rain and wind, I mean the blimmin’ INSANE kind. Think gale force winds that blew our umbrellas inside-out and basically threw us around on the footpath.. and rain that was thick and horizontal. Weather that made the news. I think it was a bit mad to go, and tentatively suggested we go someplace nearer (like, the cafe downstairs at our office), but everyone was adamant we go. So we did!

After enduring the terrifying conditions, we breathed a huuuuge sigh of relief upon entering the cafe. It was warm, cosy and most of all, DRY. Fortunately, not everyone was as insane as us, so we got a table immediately – normally you’d wait up to 30 mins for a table around lunch time. We eagerly grabbed at our menus, cold and hungry. Food came swiftly to our delight and it was all delicious! I shared the Panini and also the Tart with a friend, which was perfect so we didn’t get stuck with just our one meal. Had a lovely time gossiping, laughing, and keeping warm in the cozy cafe. Only downside was having to trudge back to work afterwards, haha!

Girls and Lindt. A match made in heaven.

Their famous hot chocolate. Ahhhhhh…
It’s my favourite hot choc in Sydney

Panini with Roast Pork Loin, Tasmanian Brie, Fig and Walnut Chutney and Wild Rocket (AU$10.50)
Loved this, I can never resist tender roast pork! And the
chutney gave it a great sweet kick to contrast

Club Sandwich with Smoked Salmon, Dill, House Pickled Cucumber with Goat’s Curd (AU$10.50)
Simple, tasty and (kinda?) healthy. But pricey considering
it’s just plain white bread!

Tart with Smoked Salmon, Braised Leek, Dill and served with Mesclun Salad ($13.00)
Ooo.. this was so rich and buttery, but absolutely divine

Profiteroles

Creamy insides.. so so good

Waffle with Lindt Hazelnut Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce (AU$12.50)
Their waffles have now SHRUNK, but it’s still the same price! Not happy.

I knoooow! And the weather wasn’t too bad today either, didn’t even need an umbrella. Hope your packing/organising/etc is all going well though πŸ™‚

Ta love. I got a lot done at work yesterday, all ready to do the training! Now all I have to is start packing before we head off to see my sister back from her trip this afternoon!

Oooh panini! :o) I love that you can just toast rolls and suddenly it’s so much MORE tasty! I used to eat them for lunch every day when I was in Italy: my fave was this vegetarian one (crazy right? But I loved it! Anyway, Italians mostly eat hams and salamis and stuff, so it’s not REAL meat, and IMHO not as tasty! Except prosciutto, but that doesn’t need to go on a panino, can just pop it straight into your mouth! Yum!)
*sigh*
I should have taken a photo of it!!! Food memories are the best!

I don’t really like sandwiches so i MUST have them toasted, and they gotta have nice meat in it, then I”m happy :)~ the one you had sounds gooooood though!

It was ok when they were massive, but now they’re half the size. I hate it when restaurants are dodgy like that :X
