I can’t jog, cos of my knee

Hehe yeah it’s a bit mad as I have to rush around as the classes are on straight after work. But I hope I can find a good/cheap one!

I used to have membership at Living Well and that’s only because their second gym used to be around the corner from my home until they closed it and Fitness First Platinum took over.

I paid $50/week ~ $200 a month which, I believe you should be able to get also
if you haggle for the corporate rate. Like you said it’s still ludicrous – the only way I could justify it was if I went there almost everyday which I didn’t, hence why I bailed out after 12 months.

Still it’s a very impressive gym! I loved the spa, sauna and steam room.

$200/month’s still waaay $$, esp when FF is $80 – and I consider even THAT too expensive. I’m very stingy πŸ˜‰

This is a big ask, I know, but I told my boyfriend you were looking at Fitness First the other day and he begged me to ask you if you’d put him down as a referral if you do decide to join?

Hehe they definitely got their hooks into him. Apparently you get $5 off your monthly membership fee for every “friend” you refer. He saw one guy go in there with 17 friends and now he gets his membership for free!

He’s happy with the gym though, and with the cost of those other gyms near you Fitness First is sounding like an almost bearable option!

Ooooh I would if you’d asked earlier! Basically every single person that heard I was looking for a gym and was a FF member asked me :X And I said yes to the first person that asked. Sorry about that!

“But I reckon by the end of all my gym-shopping, I’ll just get sick of exercising and not bother signing up for anything ;)”

“$240 a month? They better have people there to work out for you at those rates! =P”

*LOL*
Happy Exercising though!

I am surprised that eBay doesn’t have a fitness program for staff. Microsoft employees here get membership to The Pro Club, which is really nice and spouses get a highly discounted rate. The club has a $1,000 initiation fee for members of the public hence the membership is pretty much limited to MS and Nintendo employees. They even have shuttle buses to pick up and drop off people on MS campus during lunchtime.

They do, just not here in Australia, which is SO frustrating!! I like the States where they havetheir own mega gym and personal trainers :X
Even MS here doesn’t have a gym I believe, we used to use the one in the building but they got rid of it πŸ™

i would go with the women’s only gym because there is NOTHING worse than working on your lateral pull-downs and being interrupted by a macho meathead who wants to “show you the right technique”. ::shudder::

Very true! And I don’t like the guys around watching you, it makes me nervous. The womens gym had such a cool relaxed vibe..

Body combat is super fun, although I had some trouble figuring out all the moves my first class, haha, I fetl so uncoordinated! But man, did I sweat.

Yeah it’s kinda like a dance class isn’t it? And it’s a workout for the brain too cos you have to follow all the moves, which I like!

I love BodyCombat!!!! It’s the only program I’m trained in group fitness thus far, but I hope to do more training in other programs, maybe pump or attack.

Trust me, BC is very addictive. Heee….

I knoooow. It’s so swish and nice inside, a la Hilton hotel style, but I’m really doubtful I’ll pay that kind of $ :X

yey im happy you are giving other gyms a go but yeah pretty pricey. Last time I spoke to She they were offering $30 a week – squeeze that out of them! lol

I get the feeling some of them are negotiable like you said πŸ˜› BUt $30/wk is wayyy too much! Maybe $30/fortnight and I would do it :X

I just worked out today after a month and half hiatus, I’m a WIMP compared to you though. 30min of light cardio and I’m DYING, lol. I’m more of a pilates/yoga girl, but then again I’m most obsessed with my abs so I guess that makes sense.

I’m going to try to start running by the end of the month (and also try to keep on the “workout wagon” for once). Running for me is like pulling teeth though, NO stamina. =/

There’s an event I’m reeeaaallly looking forward to on the 20th so I’m going to use that as my motivation not to quit after a week of being “good”. haha Besides…summer is coming (well…here anyway ;)!

I do enjoy exercise cos it makes me feel so smug and fit, hehehehheheh. But I want it all to be FREE!

Summer’s def a good reason/incentive to get thee to the gym πŸ˜›

heh I paid $320 for the uni gym. I don’t get classes, but I’m fiune with that! I like to exercise by myself
