Festivals, FOOD, Uncategorized PYRMONT FISH MARKETS 1 April 2007

Hit the fabulous Pyrmont Fish Markets on Saturday.. the sky was a brilliant blue and the sun was out, so it was just gorgeous! It was pretty crowded though, as usual, but I guess that’s all part of the fun πŸ˜› It’s always lively and noisy there, with people calling out their orders over the counter and everything’s pretty chaotic and busy. You’ll always have to queue for your food, but it’s well worth it! The seafood is super fresh since they were all caught earlier the same morning.

So perfect looking, they look fake!

Mmm… Blue Swimmer Crabs

Succulent oyster

Delicious salmon sashimi

Lobster mornay

With the meat out

Grilled fish and chips

The BEST homemade yoghurt with mango and papaya

Random seagulls

After that, we hit the fun Pyrmont UPtown Festival down the road, and were so impressed the the Samba music and dancing. It was so fun! I just love Australian festivals.. they’re held outdoors in the sunshine, and the weather’s always so perfect and everything’s picturesque. You really don’t get anything else like it in the world. Beautiful.

Playin’ music

Dancing!

Those are definitely the freshest looking prawns I’ve ever seen! If I saw those, there is no way I could pass up buy a pound or two. Gosh…shrimp scampi sounds soooo good right now! *^^*

My son made me play that video on the Samba dancing girls again and again and again. He was boogie-ing along with the girl dancing. The problem was that he kept saying “again” after the video ended and all I wanted to do was run to the kitchen and eat my breakfast because I was so hungry!

And it’s pretty cheap at the Fish Markets too! I’m moving near there so can’t wait to visit every weekend πŸ˜›

I love yogurts with fruits and perhaps some museli on top. But, I have never had yogurt with mango and papaya together! Does the combination goes well? πŸ™‚

It’s yummmmm.. and this place makes their own yoghurt fresh so it’s super thick and creamy. It’s the best I’ve ever had :)~~~

Looks like so much fun! That lady shaking her booty reminds me of when I was in Milan and I walked past a whole row of Brazilian stalls and there was a dancer in a feathery costume, but when she turned around she was just covered (or rather NOT covered) by a g-string!!! She had a GREAT body though!

There aren’t really that many festivals in Canberra, or if there are, I think they’re probably a LOT more sedate… *sigh*

The BEST homemade yoghurt with mango and papaya

Looks yummy! Which stall can I get this? I am going to the fish market next week !!!!!

Thanks Bev.

The prawns and sashimi looks soooooo good! Been a while since I last went to the Fish Market, definitely need to make a trip there soon.
