Thomson Plaza Food Court
Singapore
$$—

Had a quick lunch at Thomson Plaza and decided on the Western stall. The Western food in food courts here in Singapore isn’t really proper Western food, but this hybrid-sort – kind of like how Australian food courts have Chinese stalls that sell food that isn’t actually eaten in Asian countries πŸ˜‰

I like the hybrid-Western food though, namely all the Chops – chicken chops, pork chops, etc. They come on this massive wide flat plate, with lots of little side dishes to pick at. Fun! I opted for the Chicken Chop Set which came with chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, cucumber, tomato, bun and fries. Plus also a soup! TASTY πŸ˜€

Dad had a Japanese Bento Box which came in a cute traditional Japanese box and served with a Japanese salad and Miso soup. Usually, the rice is pretty plain, but this place puts in lots of tasty gravy so you can stir it all into your rice to make it moist. Mmmm :)~

All topped off with some Peanut Butter Toast, done Singapore-style on very thin crispy toasted bread.

Chicken Chop Set (SG$6.50)

Soup and a local Iced Coffee

Japanese Bento Box (SG$4.90)

Peanut Butter Toast (SG$1.60)

I wish Aussie food courts were more reasonably priced,, like $2 or $3 per dish like it is here in SG. that would be great!!

HAHA me too! I bring cans of ’em to work to eat on toast, and people always ask me if it’s wartime or if I’m feeling really poor πŸ˜›
