HELLO FROM SUNNY SINGAPORE!!

Actually, not really. It’s been raining non-stop which is good since it makes the weather lovely and cool, but bad because it’s quite dreary and depressing. I’ve also gone about SIX DAYS (!) without my laptop – it died. Not a normal kinda death, but a crash-and-burn-in-hell kinda death. It was so bad that when the engineer came in to change the screen and cabling (thank goodness for the warranty!), it still didn’t work and he had to come back the next day to change the motherboard as well. But it finally works now and I have a TON of photos/posts all back-logged.. so they’ll all come in a flurry of posts asap πŸ™‚

Anyway, on Saturday we met up with a Japanese friend and a Finnish friend – we’re very multicultural πŸ˜‰ We wandered all around East Coast since the weather was brilliant.. so we mooched around and ate. Saw these cool sandcastle thingys and wondered how they stay so.. upright? Do they lacquer the surface after making them so the sand doesn’t fall apart?

The sandcastles

After that, the 7 of us had dinner by the water and watched the sunset. Unfortunately, the BBQ place that we were after had closed for renovations, so we went to the one next door. It wasn’t particularly cheap, and the food was good but not spectacular – I think their calling card is more the ambience than it is the food πŸ˜‰ Still, it was nice having dinner outdoors!

Seating along the boardwalk, by the water

Peanut dipped in chilli – as ‘discovered’ by mum

Beef with mushrooms and veggies – just average, like any other beef dish

Seafood egg omelette – really liked this, they were generous with the seafood

Cereal prawns – never a fan of this, too dry and weird!

Deep fried fish with special sauce – this was the BEST dish of the night

Honey & garlic chicken – 2nd best dish, it was delish!

Sambal veggies – very tasty

The other day, a couple of weeks ago, I was there after the rain. And the sandcastle was just mounds. Hahaha! I guess they re-do them immediately after rainfalls.

Welcome home babe!!
Hmmm..cereal prawns are my all-time favorite. But it has to be fried correctly. No Signboard does it well πŸ™‚

Heh I’ve never gotten my tastebuds used to cereal prawns.. no matter when I try ’em, I don’t like it. Maybe it’s cos I hate peeling prawns πŸ˜›

Whoo! Glad you’re having a good time, and that your computer is fine now. I could go some of that seafood omelette, deep fried fish and honey & garlic chicken! The cereal prawns look intriguing!
