I’ve walked past New York, New York many times, and was always keen to eat there. It’s fairly open-plan, brightly coloured, and funky/cheery looking. A perfect restaurant, IMHO! However, places like these here in Singapore usually tend to be overpriced yet under-deliver in food quality.. so we were initially a bit hesitant and merely popped in for lunch just to satisfy our curiosity.

Turns out, we liked it so much we not only had lunch there, but booked dinner there as well – ON THE SAME DAY! Haha! The waitress was very amused and when we returned for dinner, one of the waiters said “Oh, weren’t you here at lunch today???”. We are crazy like that πŸ˜›

The food was super good. It was not only reasonably priced, but SO tasty and yum!! The service was super and they provided chilled iced water without even being asked to, not like that bloody Gelare. We had a fantastic time there, both for lunch AND dinner πŸ˜‰ Not-so-good pics at dinner as I used my mobile phone’s camera instead…

The scrumptious menu

Perusing the menu, hrmmmmmm decisions decisions….

Beefeater sandwich. Ooh la la! I hate bread/sandwiches, yet I loved this.

Pasta – satisfying and tasty πŸ™‚

Not full yet, so also got another sandwich, a mushroom one! Juicy, delicious, perfect.

Mummy and I

Now.. on to dinner! The whole gang.

Mushroom cappucino soup

Beefsteak Muffin and Fries – this was AMAZING

Baby Back Ribs and Wedges – ahhhh these were so so meaty and tender!

Deep-Fried Calamari with Special Peanut Sauce – the sauce was so unusual. Mmm!

Spaghetti Vongole

This looked boring, but it was PACKED with flavour!

Veggie pizza – surpsingly, was awesome

Mudpie with Ice Cream – oooooooh la la!!!!

Hot Chocolate Velvet – the perfect way to cap off the meal

oh, i must’ve ordered the ‘wrong’ stuff when i visited.. because the food didn’t turn out too fantastic. Will try again! πŸ™‚

It was really unusual, and it came with a dusting of cocoa powder on top too! Think it’s been around the Citylink mall area for awhile though, right near Gelare πŸ™‚

I had dinner there when I was in Singapore last November! I ordered the spaghetti with meatballs… the meatballs were HUGE! And they were really generous with the bolognaise sauce. Quite a sinful dish, but very yummy indeed.

That place is seriously crowded though, last time I had to queue for around 15-20 minutes to get seats.

Ooo I was eyeing those meatballs too, gotta try that next time πŸ˜› There was also a mega queue after us, fortunately we booked for 6:30!
