Went to Trump’s Haidressing and got my hair coloured! I don’t colour my hair since I already straighten it.. the only reason I did so was because it was free πŸ˜€ My colourist was Sarah, who was really lovely. She recommended I go with a semi-permanent colour, since it was my first time and is less damaging to the hair. She also recommended 2 different deep-reds, “to give your colour more depth”. I did chicken out though, and request for the least obvious.. I was worried I’d be left with flaming red hair!

Turns out that perhaps I was a little too conservative, as the colour’s so so so subtle it’s not really noticable πŸ˜› Well, it’s not noticable indoors, but in the bright sun my hair shines red – I like it πŸ™‚ If I do it again, I’d go a little more obvious. Ended up also getting a cut and blow-dry, and was happy with the results. I’m just tickled pink I got my hair coloured for free! πŸ™‚

In other news, bought another bag from Luisa Clare. It’s the Semi Precious Evening Bag, in Red:
“This exquisite evening bag is embellished with semi-precious gemstones – the red bag features coral, crystal and white freshwater pearls. They are the perfect piece for evening wear, parties and special occasions. The finely braided strap can be removed allowing the bag to be used as a clutch for that extra-special occasion. Each bag features a secure zip opening and is lined with soft satin. Measures 26cm by 16cm high.”

Fell in love with it whilst I was in the store because it was so soft and the leather smelled great. I also don’t have a shoulder bag, so it’ll be nice for dinners and parties. Also got other stuff but they’re for Christmas presents (yes, I’m planning early!) so I can’t show the pics here πŸ˜›

I’m also feeling really pampered at the moment after eagerly trying out a bunch of Sephora goodies a colleague brought back for me from the USA! I love Sephora. Really and truly. Ended up getting:

1) Laura Mercier “creme brulee” body souffle – their best-selling body souffle, it costs a mind-boggling AU$115 here.. so I’ve never bought it. Now, I’ve finally gotten my hot ‘lil hands on it, hurray! The scent is luscious.. indescribably wonderful.
2) Caudalie shampoo – a staple of mine. Really gentle daily shampoo that smells clean, fresh and amazing.
3) MD Formulations SPF30 tint – my favourite tinted moisturiser + sunscreen. Ran out so needed this one pronto.

I had that free dye thing too! Ended up with a cross between almost black auburn/purple tones. I likey.

We got the same colourist, Sarah, she was really sweet and bubbly and friendly, but overall, I wasn’t too impressed with level of service. (She asked me what I’d like to drink twice, and forgot completely about it. πŸ˜› )

Oh yay! It’s so good to get a free colour, hehe.

I didn’t get my drinks forgotten – i asked for a coffee then later a peppermint tea. Maybe she was feeling forgetful that day πŸ˜›

Damn. How come none of this delicious sounding/looking stuff is never edible? I was in a soap shop (Lush, I think) in Chatswood yesterday and all of the soaps looked like candy or fudge! They even sort of smelt like it.

I’ve been eyeing that for aaaages but they won’t give me a sample and I don’t want to buy the full tube without trying it first ;(

If you are feeling adventurous, try deep purple on your hair. The colour is not obvious under normal lighting but lovely under sunlight! You can do highlights with purple. I did it once and love it! I tried red but the colour turned orangy and looked pretty disgusting.

Sounds pretty! She was asking if I wanted a red-purple as she thought it’d look nice on me, but I was too worried about looking like a troll doll afterwards, as I wasn’t totally convinced it won’t be bright πŸ˜›

How did you manage to get your hair colored for free? Anyhow, you should take a picture of your new hair. I love Laura Mercier’s Creme Brulee scent. I have the hand cream and I love it. The candle smells really heavenly when you burn it.

It was a special Redken were having. Hurray!

I’ve been eyeing the hand cream too but it’s $35 here.. πŸ™ I tried it out and it’s got such a lovely texture

It honestly looks exactly the same, d’oh! I’ll try and get a pic in direct sun though, at least it shows up then πŸ˜›

I get that sort of red colour in my hair sometimes too! I like how it’s really red in the sun but barely noticeable inside, it’s subtle but so cool πŸ™‚ And it does fade, but mine fades to a brownish red and still looks kind of red even after about 6 months!

I’ve never used Laura Mercier (Canberra doesn’t sell it! Boo), but I’m going to buy some of the tinted moisturiser off ebay! (Much cheaper too)

I like that red bag! It’s really pretty πŸ™‚

Mine’s so so so so subtle I might as well not have done it, heh. Next time, I’ll def get it more vibrant!

That tinted moisturiser’s so good – plus it’s got such a high SPF factor too

Yeah it’s pretty good! Though I bought this Estee Lauder SPF30+ face lotion – do you think if I wore both I would get SPF50+ protection? *lol*

You should have gone for the more obvious red! Red actually fades really fast, especially on dark hair like ours. I always got mine coloured a darker red brown for my base and bright red highlights. Unfortunately they eventually fade to brown after 4-6 weeks. πŸ™

I know, mine’s basically not noticable now πŸ™ Blech! Plus she said to wash my hair only every 2 days.. which is kinda driving me insane.
