Port Stephens Day 3

First of all, HAPPY 32nd ANNIVERSARY to Mum and Dad!! It was their anniversary on this day (5 Oct) and I had something really lovely/fun planned but couldn’t get it off the ground in time ‘cos it involved so much logistics.. grrr! But I will shelve the idea for the next occasion, hehe πŸ˜› So sorry mum and dad for not getting you anything on the day but I will make up for it!!

And also did some bushwalking

Lunch was at Bub’s Seafood

Calamari and chips

Battered flathead and potato scallops

Baskin Robbins ice cream: choc chip cookie dough & strawberry cheesecake (yum)

Then…. we went KAYAKING!!!

And had a glass of champagne each when we kayaked to the next beach,
in celebration of our efforts (my arms are still sore!)

Dinner was at Marco’s – which we now rank as THE BEST Italian restaurant ever.

Lobster Bisque with Crostini – so creamy and luscious

Seared Scallops on Garlic Cream Fettuccini – so sublime I won’t bother to describe it further

Spaghetti Pescatora with Calamari, Prawns and Mussels in White wine and Virgin Oil –
the sauce was totally divine! And super fresh seafood too.

Aww thanks! We had a real blast and it was about time we went away for a bit.. it’s been sooo long since we last went away πŸ˜›

We did have a really fantastic time.. it was just perfect, though I wish we could do it all over again every month πŸ˜›

Haha. I think I went to Marco’s when I was in Port Stephens! I wonder if any other places I went to will turn up in the next couple of posts. πŸ˜›

It was horrid back home today too πŸ™ I hope it clears up asap, things are so much merrier when it’s bright outside!

I think Italian food is made best when it’s the freshest of ingredients! Not that most cuisines aren’t better with fresh ingredients, but some things you can do well (or at least tastily) with mediocre ingredients. I guess cos usually Italian food is so subtle and low on ingredients?

And still drooling over your seafood!
