Riverside Food Court
Zion Road
Singapore

Popped by Riverside for dinner last night as apparently the prawn noodles was fantastic. A lot of the stalls were closed, since it was National Day.. but at least the important/interesting ones were open, hehe. First up was, of course, prawn noodles. We each got a $5 bowl which included big fat prawns and really soft pork slices swimming in a lovely richly-flavoured broth, with a bit of a peppery kick to it. It was a decent sized bowl and really satisfying :)~

Also had some Chye Tow Kway from a stall that looked really busy. I was pretty surprised to see that the owner/cook is actually partially deaf, according to a couple of newspaper clippings he had pasted up. He lip-reads your order.. which I thought was quite cool/impressive. Anyway, we got the ‘black’ version which I really liked – it was crisp on the outside but soft and gooey on the inside.. with lovely chunky egg bits. Perfect amount of black sauce too, and a decent portion was only $4 – bonus!
