I know.. it makes me feel so sick inside that someone pocketed it πŸ™ Wish I wasn’t so stupid to leave it behind too!!

I know.. it makes me feel so sick inside that someone pocketed it πŸ™ Wish I wasn’t so stupid to leave it behind too!!

i know how you feel πŸ™

even if i lose a cheapo ring that my bf gave me i feel like crap.
mine was hung onto a necklace. and i have a habit of gettin the the car to drive and putting my necklaces on during redlights.. so i leave it on my passenger seat.. when i looked- it was gone. it think it went under the seats.. i want to practically rip the seats up to retrieve it.. bt i cant even SEE it anymore.. and i dont even know if its there anymore.. πŸ™

le sigh.

hope you feel better soon!

welcome back!? lol

Ya exactly.. I’d have preferred to lost a more $$ ring that I bought for myself, rather than this one -w hich actually means a lot to me. Sighhhh..

Well in your case, maybe you can pull the seats up eventually? πŸ˜›

oh, i’m so sorry! πŸ™ just a couple of months ago, i unfortunately lost an engagement ring that was my grandmother’s (she left it to me when she passed away 15 years ago). it’s was so incredibly gorgeous and i so know how you feel.

i now refuse to take off rings to wash my hands or anything. I would rather just wait to put them in jewelry cleaner later to get off any soap spots and stuff…

Uh oh… I think we all lose things like this once in our life. I’m sorry it had to be your ring though. πŸ™ I think it’s time for a new ring! Glad to hear you had a safe trip back to AU!

ARGH!!! I know how that feels…I’ve lost meaningful things and cried my eyes out!!!
That B*#$H! How dare she keep a ring??!!??

Rings always mean something…I hope she gets tons of BAD KARMA for this!!!

Oh no!! That’s just terrible, it’s true what they said about people not wanting to return anything but just taking it. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of good samaritans out there.

But I do hope that somehow a miracle happens and you get your ring back. πŸ˜€

I know.. it hurts to realise there are people out there that would actually pocket someone else’s property.. it’s awful πŸ™

I’m so sorry:'(

Ugh. I feel your pain. Some time ago my ipod was taken (I left it in a library *SOB*). I was SO crushed not because it’s an expensive item but because it was a christmas gift from my mum (and anything she gives me is my MOST precious thing in the world). It still hurts like crazy! Although she got me another nano afterthat it just wasn’t the same anymore :'( I want THAT nano back so badddd

Ohhhh that hurts, and yeah it’s not always the money but what the item means to you. And same as you I want THAT ring back! πŸ™

Ohhh Nooooo, sorry to hear that…I’m sure that they have surveillance camera, you think you could go back to the airport and ask for it and see who walked out after you…

*sighhhh* they won’t do anything :X I guess they can’t be bothered since it’s not part of their job description or something.. UGH!!!!

A colleague of mine lost his wedding ring at our mid-year work party and all he did was hand it another colleague. In the process of passing it, it fell somewhere and was lost. Almost everyone at the party were on their hands and knees looking but to no avail.

I guess it’s true what they say, never take it off…

Anyway, I pray that a miracle happens for you!

I know! Necklaces or bracelets are harder to lose I guess… I really wanted a ring though, it was so special to me πŸ™

Oh dear, how horrible! There are too many people who don’t care about how others feel about losing their things.

Just a random thought. Since you and Chris have decided to give your relationship a try again, it would be great to start afresh with a new ring.

i dunno if a new ring would work… don’t know if i’tll make me feel guilty every time I look at it :X He gave me an ID bracelet ages ago, so thank goodness that one’s more difficult to lose!

Oh Bev I’m so sorry to hear that. I never take my engagement ring off till I’m at home. And when I’m at home I never wear it.
and I fit into category #2. I believe in Karma and always try to return things to the owner if it’s possible. Last year I saw a wrapped Christmas present in the ladies toilets at my local shopping centre and I gave it to centre management. I didn’t even open it to see what it was. I was really proud of myself for that πŸ™‚

I now know I should never have taken it off… *sigh*
It’s really great of you to be so honest, i don’t think many people are :X

Oh that sucks, Bev! I know how it feels to lose something so important to you because I lost the sapphire in the ring hubby gave me for my birthday last year and my heart still hurts every time I think about it.

I hope the person will return it to you in the end.

I am so sorry to hear this. Dont be sad… we all learn from mistakes and at least now you know how much it (and the giver) mean to you. Translate the grief to positive energy which makes you appreciate what you stil have:)

*hugs* It might turn up πŸ™‚ If not, grieve for as long as you need to, and then find another one and have more memories πŸ™‚

Could the person have turned it in at the lost & found corner? I think the person’s darn mean to have taken it away!!

There’s three types of people:
1. The person who sees it, and takes it for themselves.
2. The person who sees it, and takes it with the intention of returning it to the owner.
3. The person who sees it, but leaves it there.

Together, persons 1 and 3 probably form a majority. This ensures that most lost valuables will never be returned to their owners.

What if everyone who is the third type of person became the second type of person, though? I reckon at least 90% of lost valuables would be returned, then.

*sighhhh* I reckon number 1 is the most common. Security kinda laughed when I asked why someone would take it.. they were like “99% of people would take it, I would actually be surprised if no one did”. well, at least they were honest :T

so sorry to hear such sad news… *hugs* and *more hugs* so so sorry this happened…

yes, many ppl are selfish and would not return it πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™

I just can’t believe they’d take it.. it’s really obvious the ring has sentimental value since it’s a heart πŸ™

That’s sad to hear- poor you. But you know, karma really does work and whomever didn’t bring it to lost and found will have theirs (sorry, I’m in a bad mood :P). Still, maybe things will work out πŸ™‚

Btw, I always take off my 18k white gold ring before washing my hands in any sink. I am so paranoid because my fingers are tiny and my ring sort of moves around. I don’t feel safe even if my knuckle keeps my ring on my finger. Usually, I just forget which pocket it’s in.

Ya I hope she’s unlucky in love or something.. grrr…
i’m same as you, I take it off for that same reason. I guess I wn’t do that with my rings anymore :X

I know! Necklaces or bracelets are harder to lose I guess… I really wanted a ring though, it was so special to me πŸ™

Did you happen to walk away, for even a short period of time, after you took your ring off? That’s horrible. I hope everything works out well for you in the end, love.

Oh no!!!! I’m so sorry πŸ™

Just so you know you’re not alone, my girlfriend threw away her engagement ring, wedding band AND promise ring by accident!!!

*big hug* I hope things look up soon!

Yeah, it was at the same time. She wears all three rings all the time. She usually takes them off and lays them somewhere whenever she cleans, so she thinks she may have accidently swept them into the trash can!

omg, beverly!!!!
i’m so so sorry to hear of what happened to you. i did something similar (also a ring from my bf from tiffany with a micropave diamond but nothing nearly as spectacular as your heart ring but with ALOT of sentimental value). my ring was stolen from the student computing center at my old school when i went to use the restroom… since that time, i don’t take off my rings even to wash my hands bc i don’t trust myself anymore.

this is so awful. i feel so horribly for you right now. wish i could give you a hug in person but *hugs*

Ohhh that’s awful! it’s such a sick feeling when you realise someone’s taken your stuff πŸ™

PS. love your new LV bag!!! tres gorgeous πŸ™‚

beverly, so sorry to hear about the loss of your ring. please never remove your ring unless you are home and have a specific place for safekeeping it. a wise old woman once told me, a dirty ring is better then no ring. so even if you are doing household chores, cooking etc, never remove it. diamond & platinium are very sturdy, they can withstand water, soap & dirt. hugssssss.

I know, I guess I’ve learnt:X I always took it off to wash hands as I didn’t like getting soap on it, and because my fingers are thin, I was always worried it’ll slip off! I wn’t even again with my valuable rings:X

HUGSSSS. if the ring is the correct size and fits well, it should not slip off at all. it only slips off when the ring is too big. HUGS. just don’t any rings off if you are not at home & have no place for safekeeping ok! even at home, if you take it off and just place it on the ledge, you can lose it if you accidentally pushed it off the ledge etc., so don’t even think abt it! if I have to take off my rings at home, it goes straight to a jewellery holder in the bedroom and no where else. hope you don’t mind me sharing my tips for safeguarding rings. HUGS.

Ya mine was 1/2 size too big.. Tiffany didn’t make a size smaller and I was still debating getting it re-sized! Blech :((((( Now I’ve learnt my lesson at least!

nevermind, pat pat, next time you know. hugssss. I understand the sentimental value of this ring but at least you still have chris and he can buy you another and you can build a r/s with the ring all over again. not all is lost, the most impt thing is you have each other.

Oh dear, how horrible! There are too many people who don’t care about how others feel about losing their things.

I don’t suppose it turned up in Lost and Found? Hopefully the ring has a personal inscription to remind the person every time she looks at it that the ring doesn’t belong to her, and she’s a rotten thief.

no it didn’t either.. *sigh*.. it was only an hour! But as security said, “it only takes one person”… πŸ™

It wasn’t inscribed, the band was really thin so I’m not even sure if we could’ve!
