It looks okay but that’s the thing with us women.. wanting the best all the time.

Can the spots be lighten using whitening etc?

But like you say, it’s a light dosage.. hope it works asap. πŸ™‚

You said it πŸ™‚

I’ve tried whitening but really, those products don’t really work – it takes chemical peels etc to get results for scars. That, or accutane πŸ˜›

you make it sound like you are seriously marred or something! your skin is really not that bad.
accutane is seriously strong stuff so i’m sure it will work out!

I guess I know it could be a whole lot worse, but i’m hoping to nip the problem in the bud *before* it gets a whole lot worse… πŸ˜›

Okay, mine is a quadruple times worse than yours. =( But 2 thumbs (and big toes as well) up for guts!

I once put up a pic of my nose scar but that was cropped to show only my nose. Wahahaha!

And I hope it works on you coz that means I’ll still have hope. Hehe. So go Accutane, work you shtuff!

Hee yes, I usually only post faraway pics so no one gets close ups of my face, and I pretty much never appear in public without blush+concealer. I just can’t stand my skin sometimes! So fingers crossed for accutane πŸ˜›

Oh, but you’re gorgeous straight out of bed and up close! πŸ™‚ I do hope Accutane works, away with the red marks that upset you!

Awww that’s really nice of you to say that , thank you πŸ™‚ I do get really self conscious about the marks etc though, so I’m hoping it works πŸ™‚

i really admire you for putting these pictures up babe, but honestly your skin doesn’t need a ‘makeover’ at all!
but then again girls being girls, i totally get where u are coming from. all the best with the accutane treatment, can’t wait for the after shots!

Hehe yes, it’s terrible being so fixated and I know that, but it really annoys me since i used to have good skin, so I’m really keen to get it back to that stage πŸ™‚

Unfortunately I’m also kinda the obsessive type that really fixates on something.. but as long as there’s some sort of improvement, I’m happy πŸ™‚

you get a gold star for bravery!

heck you get 5 gold stars Beverly!!!

R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

i guess your circle of trust is rather porous….hhehheheheh

i think your face looks better than mine sans makeup! ive been having those stress-induced spots/zits for ages now and it’s so irritating when i get original sized pics which REALLY shows my awful skin!

Honestly, Beverly…you look fine! But since you said that you’ve started getting zits on your forehead ever since returning to Sg…perhaps it’s because of the weather (humid, etc)?

Yeah.. just stress and change of weather/humidity can wreck havoc on my skin :X I can’t stand my skin being so sensitive/susceptible to stuff like that though.. grr!!

what are you talking about?? even when i have make up on, your skin still looks way way WAY better than mine! you have no undereye circles/eye bags, quite an even tone and i love your rosy cheeks! *envious*

Awww you are really nice πŸ™‚ It’s probably a good thing I took the pic standing by the window, as the bright sunlight does make me look nicer than in real life (washes out all my dark circles, etc) – hee!!

Accutane does work ! What did you do to convince your dermatologist ? Usually they only give Accutane to people with real bad skin and yours is far from that πŸ˜‰

I just spoke to him about the various gels and treatments i’ve gone through, and that I was concerned that the more little zits I get, the more red marks they leave (my skin scars REALLY easily). So he said the lowest dose is OK for a short period of time, and then we’ll see how ti goes.

2 days into it, 2 of my zits have vanished. I dunno if my skin is just suddenly behaving itself or if it’s the Accutane.. but it’s exciting πŸ˜›

Looking gorgeous, but I can understand the frustration. I’m so jealous of girls with great complexions!

BTW, you have the **perfect** lips!

LIPS?! I’ve never even thought about my lips before…. hehe but thank you *goes off to check out my pout into a mirror*

I don’t wanna use concealer anymore.. I feel all fake using it, it’s so hard to just have naturally nice skin huh :X

you look FINE!!!!!!! when I wake up, I look as if a truck ran over me, my eyes are all blurry πŸ˜› hmm, maybe I shld talk to my derm abt accutane. I have been on oral antibiotics for more than a year for my cystic acne (chin only) and I am getting tired.

Heheh I think I do too πŸ˜›
Accutane does help with cystic acne, but yeah, def speak to a dermatologist or skin specialist first.

well… I cheated, this is like 20-30mins after I woke up so I was more bright-eyed. I daren’t take one JUST when I’ve woken up *scared*!

Yours looks awesome from your icon πŸ™‚
mine just irritates me… i like perfect stuff, which is probably a bad thing to like :X

I am not just saying this but your skin looks really good except for the tiny zits. It’s still so smooth and radiant though you’re not wearing any makeup!

Awww thanks πŸ™‚ It does make me want to get rid of the zits/scars though.. i don’t like to be half-way to good skin, hehehe πŸ˜›

HOney that’s just small zits , they’ll go away. I remembered taking Accutane years ago, this Dr. in Marrickville prescribed me the strongest dose I think, my face peeled really bad , and he kept telling me not to get pregnant coz it’ll affect the baby’s formation. He said after this I’ll never have acne again.. but I did probably worse :(( so after I came to the states, my friend gave me another acne medicine and that one did it, I never have acne again.. but the scars stayed πŸ™

Ooooh yeah, the strongest dose is pretty severe. Mine’s the lightest, so I hope I won’t get much dryness, etc. The goal is to get rid of the scars/marks.. then the cream for upkeep just prevents zits from coming back. Well, I just hope it works!!

My dear bev, you look perfectly fine to me. C’mon, how many of us are borned with porcelain skin?

Ermm.. must you really go thru that dose of oral medication? it cause the pimples to come back again after stopping, it happen to some ppl so it’s back to square one again.

It’s meant to lessen sebum production and with upkeep with cream, meant to totally remove or lessen zits coming back after the 4 month period. If it totally came back, I don’t think I’d bother πŸ˜›

apart from those tiny zits & red marks, you have very very resilient young looking skin & the area under your eye is amazing!!!

I’d really like smooth flawless skin.. and the doc thinks it’s achievable even on a low dose, since my ‘issues’ are quite minor. Well, let’s hope he’s right………! I can’t wait for the next 4 months now πŸ˜›

Good luck with the accutane, hopefully it will clear up the (few, tiny!) spots and marks you have. I was amazed at how bright your under-eyes are with no concealer though, mine look like I have been punched in the eye!

I do have dark eyecircles, check out the 1st pic! But because there was so much sunlight, it’s not as obvious for some reason.. in real life, my dark circles are REALLY bad.. so I just chuck on the concealer πŸ˜‰

In May, I quit using the Retinol and wrinkle stuff I bought for my birthday in April. That’s when all hell broke loose.

The hiving bumps mean your skin doesn’t like your cleanser (no matter how nice it might smell or what’s advertising might be promising).

I quit getting hiving bumps when I stopped using the calm.

Then I had clogged pores because I was using Aveda’s very thick hydrating cream. It did make my skin look very young. But it also clogged my pores.

So I quit using that last week and went back to the semi old routine: Aveeno’s Clear Complexion Cleanser and Neutrogena Retinol cream twice a day (not around the eyes). The retinol opens the pores. Now I am almost o.k., almost calm.

Hope your stuff works for you. Although people probably cannot tell it, I have been in a hiding mode almost all summer (here) because of my zits. Zits are ruling the day.

No πŸ™‚ I’ve actually been reading up on it in the past few months, but never did anything as I wanted to go to a trusted specialist and not just random general doctor.. that scares me πŸ˜›

Part of the reason I want to do it now is that I’m scared the red marks will get worse and I’ll get more of them :X wish we were born with perfet skin, hee!

it’s not that bad, your pores are non-existent !

isn’t accutane for SEVERE acne though?

research more about it too, i read an article in SEVENTEEN magazine ( this was ages ago ! haha) that one of the side effects accutane has is depression. of course this is just a small percentage, but still πŸ˜‰

It’s true, and it’s even more terrible if paired with an anti-depressant. But my ex was on it and it cleared up his acne so wonderfully! He didn’t get any weird side effects from it πŸ™‚

Bev, I think you look fine, not ugly at all!! I had mild acne when I was a teenager (much worse than what you have now, my entire forehead and nose area was pretty much constantly covered in pimples!) and it used to bug me a whole lot. Luckily it all miraculously went away when I turned 18! I hope the med works for you and doesn’t dry your skin out too much!

Yeah, Accutane has the (as yet, unproven) side effect of depression and suicide.. but I suppose it’s like any other drug with side effects and also unproven side effects. I’m being watched closely, so if I start writing about woeful stuff, errr.. call the police!

i NEVER had acne when i was young.. only in the past 3-4 months, it’s ridiculous πŸ™

my skin was clear all throughout HS, when i got to my 20’s i started breaking out and i was like wth?? then i examined my diet and realized i ate too much protien, so i cut back and now it’s better **knocks on wood**

I know what you mean – those persistent small spots can be more annoying than one big blemish that occurs and then disappears again, even though the small ones seem more minor. Good luck with the treatment!

I had never noticed your acne before, but it’s really not that bad at all… I hope your Accutane will help treat it for you πŸ™‚

yes, you are very brave to post early morning sans make-up photos as most people would not do that, although I would not say you look ugly at all (you still look great to me even without makeup!)

thank you for trusting me too πŸ™‚

I don’t really have much acne.. it’s more little zits when I come back to SG and the scars they leave behind – drives me nuts.

And thanks, it’s really nice of you to say that πŸ™‚

i think we all have a habit at picking at our flaws, no matter how big they are.but speaking of perfection- im really envious of your naturally flawless application of makeup, it’s so understated and pretty!

i look crap with or without makeup; you on the otherhand look great with or without makeup!

Aww thanks! i try to use as natural makeup as possible, so usually just blush and concealer. I’m a bit lazy to do much else πŸ˜‰

Hey, it’s not bad at all, but I understand your frustration too. The little little spots may not seem visible to others but when I sometimes have it, it’s so annoying to know that they are there and the face doesn’t feel smooth!

Yeah.. for me, the little bits all add up. And whilst I don’t often get mega welts, the little things are enough to make me go bananas :X

It doesn’t look too bad, but stubborn acne frustrates me too.

I hope accutane works! I have a couple friends who have used it, and the results were miraculous.

It’s not so much acne as little zits and the scars that drive me nuts. This is meant to get rid of them……… so fingers crossed πŸ™‚

The minor stuff all adds up and drives me innnnsaaaannnnne :X And I’ve tried everything, they just don’t go away, grrrrrrrrr

Awww, you dont look too bad!
We are all beautiful in our own ways πŸ™‚

Accutane, Work, Work!!!!

p/s: thanks for trusting me!

I knooowww.. i really hope it works for me, about 90% of people get cleared long-term, so i hope i’m in the lucky percentage πŸ˜›

Looking gorgeous, but I can understand the frustration. I’m so jealous of girls with great complexions!
