I wrote a whole bunch of stuff but it didn’t go through. Arggh.

You’ve really neat parents! Mine have no idea that I write online (I think). Btw, dinner looked really tasty and healthy!

Geez, I feel your pain on the credit card balance…..mine’s gonna be around that amount this month too =X

That lasagna looks delicious…..it’s unfortunate that I’m allergic to mushrooms…I will live vicariously through you though….hehe

Keep eating!

I just hope finance pays me back soon.. i don’t want to take $6k out of my savings, it’ll be kinda annoying :X

Ahhh I don’t know anyone who’s allergic to mushrooms, you’re the first, hehe! They’re soooo nice, I eat ’em all the time.. but it’s better than being allergic to chocolate right? πŸ˜‰

whoa..yeah, credit cards can be nasty, that’s why I Giro mine coz I am a silly billy and WILL forget to pay my bills on time. Was relieved to read that it was mostly coz of your trip – hopefully you get your $$ back real soon!

Me too! Mine’s auto-paid off every month.. I don’t trust myself to remember esp if I’m away.
Luckily I didn’t pay for my plane ticket, otherwise it’d be $17k instead *freaks out*

Haha my parents are on my friends list so they see all my locked entries πŸ˜› Nah, they don’t care as long as I pay off my cc bill in full every month and set $$ aside in my savings every month.. the rest I’m free to spend!

Is it hard to write with your parents reading? I know it certainly curtailed my writing when my parents started reading it.

Heh no.. I don’t lead a very illegal or party-mad life, so it doesn’t make juicy gossip for anyone! The only naughty thing I’ve done recently is getting drunk, but they weren’t fussed about it. I’m lucky to have cool parents that don’t freak out over every little thing.. I think that’s mainly why I don’t go looking for trouble either – can’t be bothered! πŸ˜›

Well, I used to complain a lot about work but stopped when my parents started reading it. It’s not the illegal or party-mad life style! πŸ˜›

heh! Why do they mind if you don’t like work? Parents are the best sounding board when you gotta bitch about something IMHO πŸ˜›

I’m a fan of Iku too! I go to the one at Waverley because its really close. I also luv their lasagne and their chickpea casseroles arent bad either. You said you’re not generally a fan of desserts but if you do like cheesecake, give their tofu cheesecake a go. Its a lil diff but I quite liked it, and I felt less guilty bout eating it hehe.

Ooo never tried their chickpea casserole, will try that next time! Heard the lentil burger is good too (though it sounds awful). I’ve had the tofu fritter/pattie.. didn’t like it that much since it’s kinda dry.

Tofu cheesecake though?! It sounds like an oxymoron.. haha!!

My credit card has no points system.. grr!! Westpac gave me a free gold cc and waived the fees, so i think they don’t let me opt into the points thing ;( I’m off to their website to see how I can get it, thanks for the reminder! πŸ™‚

Your fish looks yum! I made some cod with mushrooms and parmesan the other night that was delish.

I am glad to hear that the lasagne tasted better than it looked. πŸ˜‰

Oooooooooooo the cod sounds so good – you should’ve taken a pic! πŸ˜›

When they gave me the lasagne I looked at it and went “yuck! does it come with any sauce?” haha.. but it really did taste absolutely delicious!

Ok – now, I don’t measure anything and am doing this off the top of my head! I find it’s all personal taste anyway. If you need specifics, let me know and I’ll go get my recipe card from the kitchen.

Melt a knob of butter in a hot pan. Slice up a large handful of chestnut mushrooms and add them to the butter once it’s hot and sizzling. Season with a little salt and pepper and cook for 7-10 minutes or until nice and soft. In the meantime, take two cod fillets (or plaice. Or any white fish, probably) and drizzle with a little olive oil and lemon juice. Place under grill for 3-4 minutes. Top with mushrooms and sprinkle on some fresh grated parmesan cheese. Return under grill and cook 2-3 further minutes until parmesan has gone brown and bubbly.

SO GOOD!

I love ’em too! But I’ve never actually paid for one full price.. I either get them free, or get the one-for-ones… their prices are way too $$ for me!!

wooo, i love the look of the dinner u made πŸ˜›

beware of marinated stuff, cos sometimes they use not so fresh fish for marinating πŸ™‚

I bought the salad from downstairs and only had to cook up the fish, it was easy! I got the fish from De Costis, they’re famous for really great fresh seafood πŸ™‚
