I bought the exact same pair of shoes about 3 weeks back. And I was at Straits Kitchen yesterday. Had the char kway teow and it was soooo good!

We have similar taste – those shoes are so hot!

Chris reckons Alice’s char way teow is better but I can’t really tell the difference.. really want to try their bak chor mee – I’ve never had it before, not even in Singapore

They were the most $$ shoes I’ve ever bought in my life :X But then again, I’m really cheap when it comes to shoes – anything over $50 is a lot to me!

I think they’d be cute on any size feet! My collegue has sz7 or 8 feet I think, and they were so gorgeous on her – that’s what made me want a pair too, heh

Gold Class is the best way to go. Our cinema has been upgrading tickets lately, where a normal ticket is $13 and they’ll upgrade you to Gold class for an extra $4!! So needless to say we’ve been seeing a lot of movies from there lately!

Oh wow, that’s a good deal then! For us it’s $11 difference.. times 2 people, that’s an extra $22 – so I don’t think so :X

I noticed that Chris always have Kway Teow and you, Hokkien Mee. Favourites?

Oh, in Malay, that ‘Martabak” is called ‘Apam Balik’, heard of it? It’s usually stuffed with cut peanuts and sugar grains though. My parents love it.

I have a ton of faves, but Chris is Char Kway Teow connoisseur, he really has it ALL the time and NOTHING else, it’s insane πŸ˜›

I haven’t heard of apam balik but in SG we have something that sounds like what you said and it’s called “ming jiang kueh!” I like that too :)~

There’s a Straits Kitchen in SG too, but I guess they’re 2 really diff things. πŸ™‚ Anyway, the martabaks look more like pancakes! >< Which they might be, but not really like what I had in mind of the malay/indian kind?

Yeah it’s not the Indian kind which uses roti prata/chanai.. it’s more like a crumpet texture – we have them in Singapore too ya know and they’re called “ming jian kueh”, they’re yum!

There are two types of martabak, the sweet (manis) & the meaty version – usually with eggs, minced beef & vegies. try the one with chicken sausages there, not authentic..but yummm.. :)~

Chris says they’re Minnie Mouse shoes – haha!

I’ve had the meaty savory martabak before, but it was my first time having the sweet one – yum!

Omg!! I love your shoes!! I saw them at the store and I fell in love with them too. ♥
I forgot the name but I really want the red wallet with the bow!
Also, do you think their material belts are worth it? For $60?

Wow those martabaks look scrumptious!!

Hee thanks! I saw them in the store and they had only ONE pair in a sz35 – so I just had to get them, haha

I don’t like the belts.. they don’t fit properly on my waist πŸ™
