Oh wow!! Congrats on the $$!!! Whenever some unexpected money comes my way, I splurge on a treat for myself. Save? What’s that? No… just kidding. I do set aside money into savings, but unexpected money always goes at least partially to self indulgence. (Though in my line of work, there are very few instances of extra pay and no prizes. Boo!)

I’ve been working for a few months to shed some pounds, but only recently have I noticed much of a difference on the scale. But from the start, people were telling me how I was looking thinner. It’s just that the muscle that you gain from working out (even though your muscles may not be noticeably different) weighs more than fat. But I do know how frustrating it is to not see the number on the scale budge!!

Hehe.. well I just bought a few Balenciaga bags so I’m saving it for now and not spending it on anything in particular.

I was kinda hoping I’d drop 2kg after 1 week of working out.. guess either I’m not doing enough, eating still too much, or just was way too optimistic! πŸ˜‰

Congrats on winning $1k!

As for the weight loss, keep at it! I’ve been exercising every day since March and it was coming off slowly at first (4 kilos in a few months) but then in the past few weeks all of a sudden I lost another 2 kilos really quickly and 2 inches off my waist.

Thanks!

Man… exercising every day for a few months is going to kill me :X But you gave me inspiration, i’ll keep going! πŸ˜›

Well exercising every day is probably a bit overkill! But I’m not doing a huge amount of exercise each day so that’s why I do it so often. Plus I’m a person who loves routines so once I made it part of my daily routine it was easy enough to stick to it.

Good luck!

Congrats Bev! That’s awesome you won such a big prize.

Muscles are denser than fat… so if you lost 5 pounds of fat and gained 5 pounds of muscle, you’ll still weigh exactly the same but you should look (and be) leaner. πŸ™‚

Congrats! I would be so excited if I won $1,000 or any amount of money since I’ve never won anything before. πŸ™‚

Why don’t you try finding out what your body fat percentage is? I’m sure you are building more muscle, hence the lack of change in your weight. Don’t be discouraged!

I’m excited too.. I never win stuff! πŸ˜€

My body fat percentage is around 17-18% when a doctor checked a year ago.. dunno what it is now though. i’ll have to ask next time I’m at the doc’s πŸ™‚

Wow, congrats on the win!

Anyway, I think you’re just fitter now and toned even though you’re not losing weight. That should be good isn’t it? I guess, the excess weight will disappear if you keep the exercise long term.

I keep telling myself to exercise to lose the extra flabs but I can’t seem to keep to it. Argh!

Hm, was it hard at first when you started out exercising? I always procrastinate.. and that’s not exactly very good πŸ™‚ Btw, I think it’s great that you won 1K !!

YES, i was sore for days afterwards.. at the moment I’m generally doing a 15min light jog every 1-2 days. It’s not proper exericse but it’s better than nothing IMHO.. and in the past week I’ve really gone a bit nuts and done proper exercise – boy, it hurts!
