I think you did very well, although you probably didn’t give Nordstroms cosmetics counters a fair enough shake or you would have caved on something. 🙂 FYI, if you get a chance to head back to Nordstrom, the cosmetics counters there will bend over backwards to make you hand decanted samples of anything you admire from fragrances to foundations. It is the easiest department store in the USA to score samples from, and if you spend enough at different lines with different SAs for each line you can come home with a shopping bag or more in free stuff.
I think you did great on the shoes and the purses! You might need to head back to the mall for a gift for Chris and your mom though, no? 🙂
posted on August 8, 2005 at 9:32 am
Ooo I know what you mean.. they kept asking me if I’d like to “sample anything”! lol. but I felt bad as I wasn’t looking to buy anything – as it is, I think I can’t fit my stuff in my tiny luggage bag anymore 😉

I’m so glad you’re enjoying America! It just makes me think- maybe I don’t appreciate my home. I should rediscover how excellent California is. Thanks for the re-wind-mind 🙂

posted on August 8, 2005 at 2:00 pm
Your day sounds amazing! haha. I *love* the Segur, it’s gorgeous! I’m a bit jealous that the Vuitton is cheaper over there… I thought it was supposed to be the same price worldwide? 🙁
Yeah.. after exchange rate and what not, it’s cheaper in the US, and even cheaper in Europe! Unfair 🙁
posted on August 8, 2005 at 2:10 pm
Damn.. Well I’m going to Europe next year…. hehehe. Thinking I might have to buy a lot of Vuitton! 🙂
posted on August 8, 2005 at 2:34 pm
Ahhhhhhhhhh you’ll go nuts, it’s a LOT cheaper there! *jealous*
posted on August 8, 2005 at 2:04 pm
well it doesn’t come round often so when it does I’m going to enjoy it, hehe! 😛

I love the entire post. Your blog is my favorite blog to read. All the stores, Nordstrom, Sephora, Coach and Louis Vuitton look so elegant. I wished I had taken pictures like that when I went to Vancouver. I love your Louis Vuitton handbags. I thought you sold your other red purse (Coach?) because you didn’t need 2 red purses? The Nike Shox with the pink detailing suits your personality. I like your haircut. I love how you spent your day at the spa, shopping and eating. Its my idea of a perfect day.
posted on August 8, 2005 at 2:33 pm
I did sell my COACH as I already have an LV pochette, but I sold that too so I could buy this one – it’s bigger than the regular pochette and so much nicer IMHO with the clasp in the front! So just 1 red bag now and that’s it 😛
It was def a nice day.. doesn’t come by too often!
posted on August 8, 2005 at 4:36 pm
Since I was in front of Sephora, I walked and in and was totally overwhelmed. I didn’t even know where to look or where to start first.
I think that’s how my wife would be if she ever stepped into a Sephora.
I want some of that seafood pasta!
posted on August 9, 2005 at 4:53 am
lol yeah.. a woman’s paradise 😛 I wish we had something similar in AU!
posted on August 8, 2005 at 5:45 pm
I love the purple/pink heels you bought, they’re amazing.
Getting pedicures and manicures feels so good, hand massages are the best 😉
posted on August 9, 2005 at 4:54 am
I wore ’em today and they’re soooo comfy – they’re heels yet don’t hurt my feet at all! I want to get the other colors now 😛
posted on August 8, 2005 at 6:51 pm
OMG I loved this entry. I was laughing the WHOLE TIME you are hilarious!! You describe American culture perfectly, I feel the same way every time I go shopping, but I try to hold it in because I’m FROM HERE so it isn’t like I’m holiday or something. *lol* Oh and your haircut looks superb!
Hee yes the shopping is so much fun! It’s endless 😉
posted on August 8, 2005 at 7:54 pm
there is another restaurant “shiok” in the bay area, i like their singapore food better than straits. straits is not bad, a bit over priced imo. i like coach bags, already bought 2 since May, better stop for a while! 😉
posted on August 9, 2005 at 4:55 am
Ahh I’ve never seen Shiok, only Straits in the area 🙁
posted on August 8, 2005 at 9:21 pm
Your day sounds so much fun! Great shopping loot and your hair looks cute. I went to my first Sephora store last year in Las Vegas (no Sephora in Vancouver), and I was overwhelmed too! It’s crazy to see stuff in person when I usually just order from Sephora online. 🙂
posted on August 9, 2005 at 4:56 am
Sephora really is amazing huh! at least they ship to you.. they won’t ship to AU ;(
posted on August 9, 2005 at 12:01 am

Hey Bev, you should see if there are any factory outlets nearby…normally they have great bargains…
Also, good to see you’ve found great eating locations again! LOL The food looks fabulous!

I don’t think there are any near me 🙁 But Im going to Stanford mall on Fri, everyone keeps telling me to go there so I have high hopes!

Do you shop there often? It’s so amazing 😛 Next one is Stanford, hope that’s nice too!
posted on August 10, 2005 at 5:59 am
Not often enough… San Jose is about one hour (maybe less, all depends on traffic) from Monterey (where I’ve been a good portion of my life) and its the BEST mall within a decent proximity, so its where I always went with my mom for Christmas shopping, and with my best friend Jenn for just about every formal and prom event. 🙂
posted on August 10, 2005 at 2:39 pm
yayy glad to hear i went to a good mall, hehe! I can’t wait for stanford now.. i love shopping here 😉

What a day! Shopping and buying stuff…love the vuitton stuff and the heels too.
The pampering looks – Mmmmm! Even if the haircut wasnt cosmic – it’s always nice not to have to do it yourself – the wash and blow dry and stuff… And the mani-pedi I bet was great…toes look fab!
The food rocks!

I finally got down to reading all your updates on San Jose. Thanks for sharing all the wonderful pictures. I am drooling over your shopping pictures. GREAT HAUL!!! :)~~~~~~
BTW how much can a mini pochette hold?
posted on August 21, 2005 at 1:02 am
The shopping was so fun, hehe.
The mini pochette holds my digicam, and also cosmetics. It’s really roomy since it’s not a ‘flat’ pouch, but has a bottom part. Totally recommend it 🙂
posted on August 21, 2005 at 3:23 pm
I am sure the shopping was fun. I am having fun just looking @ your pictures.
Sounds like the mini pochette is a good size but it’s sooo teeny a size. Looks like the size of the pouch I have that comes in the bucket bag. You have the pochette too don’t you?
posted on August 21, 2005 at 11:06 pm
Yeah I have the pochette but I carry it as a proper bag, i find it’s too big for cosmetics 😛 I like the mini pochette more. esp with the gold chain!
posted on August 22, 2005 at 1:45 am
I saw the pochette from cerise range yesterday. I was thinking to get that to use as a proper bag too but not sure I would get lots of mileage out of it since I already have a Gucci mini bowling bag which I use a lot when I don’t lug lots of stuff. I like the gold chain of the mini pochette too. Hmmm I shall think about it for a few days.
