Whoa Bev, you are right up my alley!!! I live just 15 minutes away from Santana Row. It’s weird to see you posting about all these places I frequent, haha. Valley Fair is definitely the best mall in Northern Cali…the LV boutique there is the one I always go to.

Oh, and if you get the chance, you should eat at Maggiano’s on Santana Row. I love their Nonna’s Poundcake dessert!

Enjoy SJ!

Heh heh heh. I’ve already “discovered” LV there and bought some stuff *grin*

Hey wanna meet up? A few ALVA members and I are meeting up at Valley Fair on Sat for lunch.. it’ll be fool to see you – and I wanna go to Stanford (heard it’s good) later too! πŸ™‚

I can’t make it on Saturday, but thanks for asking πŸ™‚ This is the one weekend when I’m actually busy, haha!

Oh yes, Stanford is pretty awesome too. I go there mainly for the Neiman Marcus, but they have tons of other stores too!

Welcome to America! I’m sorry to hear about your flight, though. πŸ™ But hopefully all the shopping will make up for it. πŸ™‚ I’m so excited for you! hehe

i wanna be there too! haha. the airline food certainly didn’t look all too appealing. thats why i tend to sleep through my flight, it’s hard to get hungry when you know you’re gona face not-so-nice food. have fun shopping tomorrow!

What’s with the airline?!?!? Can’t imagine getting a third choice meal on Business Class and the food being a let down!
But that hotel sure makes up for it, it looks GRRRREAT!

That sushi looks amazing, especially the rolls topped with the slices of salmon.

It’s also quite amusing ‘cos the Americans are finding me quite bizzare – as when they ask me where I’m from, I say Singapore but then they ask why I have an Australian accent..

When I visited Sydney in 1997, it was the first time I had heard an Asian speak with an Australian accent and thought it was pretty neat. Not something you’re used to hearing in Canada!

The food here is so nice, $$ though! :X
Americans gawk at me once I open my mouth and start talking.. it makes me self conscious!

i have to say, wow! your life is so amazing and full of amazing and exciting things πŸ™‚ i was looking at the pictures and my jaw fell, just the hotel room, unbelievable! I hope you have a great, great time in the states! =) *good shopping*

It’s my fave hotel so far! eBay people all stay here when they come to SJ.. I have to say, they have good taste πŸ˜›

Glad you’re liking the US! πŸ™‚ Come visit me, I’m only about 8 hours away, and you’re 4 hours from my sister (and parents as they’re visiting her this weekend…)

I actually thought about telling you to meet up, maybe having Tony and I drive up to San Jose etc, but then he figured he probably wouldn’t get the days off..so I didn’t even mention it.

Enjoy the country and don’t mind us nosey americans. =p

How long was your flight?

Ahhhhh yesyesyes try and get Tony to get time off! πŸ˜› It’ll be so fun to shop together, hehe. Wish we were closer!

The flight was about 14 hours.. argh

ah! I’m so glad you’re having a good time! Welcome to America!!

I always fly airlines that are NOT american hahah eventhough I’m from the states. I find many of co. service lacking (AA, Delta, United, etc) But Singapore and British Airway is awesome.

Hope you have an excellent time!

Haha thanks! I’m glad to be back in the States.. I’ve really missed it.

I normally fly Qantas and I like it, I really want to try out Singapore airlines though!

United

I’m American also and I try to avoid United like the plague. (In fact, you’re right about American airlines in general.) Singapore and Cathay are my favorites. Best wishes to Beverly for an enjoyable stay.

Re: United

Thank ya! πŸ™‚

I used to fly United all the time and I don’t remember anything bad.. maybe they’ve changed since πŸ™

I hope so! Except for 2 fire alarms that went off last night.. ahh.. well, it just means I may need some retail therapy *grin*

There are a lot of friendly Americans, I’m glad you’re finding them! πŸ™‚ And ew, they’re not supposed to touch food with their bare hands. I would’ve called him out on that one.

I find we tend to be very curious when we meet people from other parts of the world, many I know don’t travel much or at all, so it’s interesting to hear how other places live πŸ™‚

Ya it’s the people that haven’t been out of the USA that are really keen to hear about my life etc. I guess if you live in such a huge country there’s no real need to go overseas! πŸ˜›

*laughs* There really isn’t, honestly. Unless you like to travel and things and flying, I know many who are afraid to fly. I’ve never been overseas myself, but I’ve actually left the country (gone to Canada) and hope to someday GO overseas πŸ™‚
