Music’s good – angry music makes me run a little faster. I’ve seen people prop up a book or a magazine while they run/cycle. I usually use this time to plan what else I’m going to do. I find if I concentrate on each step – making them long, or pushing up the rating/incline etc, I get a better workout than if I’m in sleep-walk run mode. Problem is, I don’t really like running all that much. πŸ˜›

I tried propping up a book but boy I got nauseous.. like I was reading in a car or something, lol! Right now I try counting and stuff like that, which gets a bit boring (and nerdy!) lol

Well I’m lucky because at my gym each machine has it’s own personal tv with remote so I can just watch tv and not get bored. Sometimes I run longer when I want to finish a show….hehe…..

Wish I had that! My gym’s just the free gym with my apartment so they only give a stereo and no tv, blah.

Heheh I would so run longer just to finish a show too, talk about great motivation!

i’m not a fitness guru πŸ™‚ normally i would exercise along with my best friend. i feel ‘motivated’ by her presence and we can do nice chit chat, too. it could be that, we would have different exercise schedule in a week, but at least we have to meet in the studio once a week and it’s a must, as we also want to keep updating each other.

Chris does come with me sometimes, but he prefers to use the pool. Boy, I wish I had the internet or TV in front of me, lol!

20 mins on a threadmill is reasonably long enough, but u need to add it warm down as well. Normally i jog with my iShuffle blasting dance music !

Anyway, i love the 2 photos of ya, especially the 1st one, so cute !!!

The Costi looks so fresh and good, wish i can have bite now :P~

I do 5 mins walk, 10 mins run, 5 mins walk.. that’s as much as I can do before I just get so terribly bored!

That’s what I miss about AU when I’m in SG.. lovely fresh food :)~

What is that fresh roll exactly? Is it just prawns and herbs on bread?

I second the group classes. If you can’t do that, always take something you like to read and good music.

I can’t do treadmill. I’ll simply die of boredom from running on the spot!! I usually rollerblade so I can see different things along the way. πŸ™‚

I know! i feel a lil silly bouncing up and down on the treadmill too πŸ˜‰ I like to jog outside but it’s too cold after work.. but I’ll do it on the weekends – like today, the weather is just GORGEOUS

Jacinta is a good shopper.
I hate exercise. For a couple of years I placed a stationary bicycle in front of the t.v. Four times a week I would ride it for 15 minutes. My logic was that I would have no excuse not to do 15 minutes.

She sure is, and it came in an adorable bag too!

i do want a bike/treadmill in front of the tv.. but not sure if I’ll actually use it πŸ˜‰

i bring my ipod mini along & plug it in & blast the music. also i do variations of workouts like random workout & level 8. i would be so busy running on high, low, high inclination. so much so the time pass by faster than i realize. i also hop machines to machines somedays to kill the boredom. say treadmill, stepper then elliptical. i don’t take long breaks, just a couple of seconds hopping from one machine to another! πŸ™‚

Oh that’s a good idea.. to vary the workout! The treadmill comes with that function but I never bothred to figure it out.. oops πŸ˜›

just don’t go on machines πŸ˜€ I only ever go to the gym to do group fitness classes. so much more fun! And you can easily do an hour a day, because it’s only one class and it’s very exciting!

We don’t have classes ‘cos my gym is just the gym that comes with my apartment πŸ™ We used to have personal trainers when I worked at Microsoft and I agree, they held classes and it was way more fun! πŸ˜›

Bev, you’re gorgeous =)
And that roll looks amazing. Costi’s rocks.
I’m a Sydney girl come December, so we should hang out and EAT sometime!

Have you tried the fizzy milk yet?

Oh thanks πŸ˜›

ooo Are you coming to Sydney for good or just a trip? We should def meet up for some good eatin’, lol

I have tried that fizzy milk! It’s alright.. but I prefer the Japanese drink Calpis more, love that πŸ™‚

For me, I watch TV. Dawson’s Creek reruns are on when I go, so I go for about an hour. I also recommend that you bring your own music with headphones so its less likely you tune out.

My stingy gym downstairs doesn’t have a tv, only a stereo ;(
I’m seriously thinking of getting a treadmill @ home, then at least I can run when I watch tv!

The prawns on the fresh roll looks so fresh!

I am not an exercise guru but I like to listen to music. I would die of boredom if I don’t have music to listen to while I work out. I’m already bored with my current music. Need to go look for new music.

I just LOVE Costis.. I’ve had it almost every night since they opened, lol.

There’s actually a stereo in the gym with the radio on.. but I don’t even hear it when I’m on the treadmill, weird! I kinda tune out I think..
