Hi Beverly, what kind of stone is that ring? It’s gorgeous! It almost looks like it’s glowing.

Those glutinous balls filled with ground peanuts look delish too!

It’s hand blown glass! It really does look like that in real life.. and was only about US$20 which is pretty cheap IMHO!

I like the plain bottoms best. With regards to the digital camera, i’m thinking of getting a new one too, the boys in college broke it during pub crawl a couple of weeks ago and i was too drunk to realise it at that point anyway. Where did you get it from, cost and how many megapixels? Thanks.

Arghhh how annoying! Hope you got made at the guys!

My camera was from Holland Village, the electrionics store, SG$390 and 3.2mp

I saw that picture of the fried baby squid and drooled! I love them! Were the squids crunchy? If so, what is the name of this restaurant. Need to go when I go back to Singapore. Also, I vote for the plain pink bikini bottoms. They look really good!

Yeah they were little crunchy things! It’s just along Smith St @ Chinatown.. one of the first stalls that also sells the bbq fish and bbq singray. Yum πŸ™‚

It always amazes me when you post one of those food posts. Man, you can really eat! And not get fat! Life’s not fair πŸ˜›

I like the plain bottoms best πŸ˜€

Oh I do pay my dues, believe me.. I’m a lot larger than I was 2 years ago πŸ˜‰ But it’s worth it IMHO.. no point half-starving myself and being unhappy :X

I like the plain bottoms best, its always more flattering to stick to a solid colour and you can always jazz up with a sarong.

1. Prefer the bathing suit on right (solid color) but both are nice.

2. OMFG, the food. The tourist board there should hire you to do their PR and revamp their web site with photos of food and items one can shop for. Their tourism business would dramatically rise. I sooooooo want to go to Singapore now!!!

3. What exactly is special about this sale? Guaranteed lowest prices of the year? And what items were you psyched to have the chance to shop for there?

4. OMFG, the food. πŸ˜‰ Can’t WAIT for the Japanese food photos. My favorite. Mmmmmm.

Oooo it would be fun to work in food PR or something like that! Or better still, one of those TV hosts that travel around eating and visiting places πŸ˜› *dreams*

Great SG Sale is the biggest ever.. very low prices and the entire country’s shops are on sale. It’s pretty amazing!!! I’m just after anything interesting at a good price, haha

omg, just reading your post makes me want to book a flight to singapore so i can pig out on all the yummy food :p

i vote for the plain bottoms too, love the little silver dangly thing.

can wait to see what you buy in the sales, i can live out my shopaholic dreams through you, hehe.

Eeee yes come to SG!! I def plan to come back at least once a year… it’s just too painful to be away for longer :X

Shopping day is Wed… *quivers*

Everyone seems to prefer the plain pink bottoms.. think it’s a winner! :PGlad you like the food pics btw!

I like the plain bottoms best, its always more flattering to stick to a solid colour and you can always jazz up with a sarong.

the plain swimsuit seems to be more popular πŸ˜› I do like it.. waiting for it to go on sale then I’ll get it!

I like the bikini! The shell details are so niiice! I actually like the first bottom more, but I agree with whomever who said to get both, for interchange. That’s a very good idea!

I like both.. how anoying is that :X The all-pink one is nice and matchy, but the pattenered one is more interesting! Maybe when M&S goes on sale I’ll get both, haha πŸ˜›

food

omg..all the food pictures are making me so hungry!!

ps. the green veg “yuck” comment made me laugh!! πŸ™‚

Re: food

Hee.. my uncle made me try some so I took a bit, but that as about it – don’t want to waste space in my stomac πŸ˜›

Hehehe!! My Mum got the exact same Casio digi. cam. yesterday too. Came with a whole load of freebies, so she couldn’t resist, lol. It’s really handy (and teeeny!), I’ll probably borrow it for fun sometime. πŸ˜›

And my vote’s for no.2 (right) – cute! πŸ™‚

Plus, your ring’s really pretty~! :DDD

OH yay!! How much did she pay if you don’t mine me asking? MIne was SG$390 and came with a bunch of freebies too!, but no free 256mb card.. just the inbuilt 10mb one. But I didn’t get an extra card, don’t think I’ll use it up anyway!

Oops, I went to ask her, and my bad – different Casio model. Mum has the EX-Z750, 7 megapix. so it’s more $$, $800+. Looks a lil’ similar tho’! (I’m not so good with Casio stuff, mine’s Olympus.) And yeah, she’d the free 256 mb card, cashcards, mp3 player, etc. πŸ™‚

Oh hehe, she has the superbeefy one! I wanted to get the smaller 3.2mp model as I’ll be carrying it around with me all day and I’m scared i’ll lose it :X

Hey Bev – Thanks for sharing all the amazing food pics. Everything looked delicious.

As for the bathing suit, I definitely like the plain bottom better than that the one with the pattern.

My tummy is growling…

The food you eat looks soooo good. As for the bikini…why not get both? If you have to choose one, I like the one with the pattern.

Re: My tummy is growling…

Heh it’s BAD to get both… I shouldn’t really πŸ˜› But if they do go on sale, I will!!

1. Prefer the bathing suit on right (solid color) but both are nice.

You can get those balls frozen in asian supermarkets, I get them cos I have no choice in AU.. they’re not as good tho!

Ring was SG$32, not too bad! πŸ™‚

the balls are called tang yuan! hehe..they’re different fillings too, there’s red bean and sesame i think? =)

btw..the plain bottoms are better coz they match the top..but the patterned bottoms are more interesting!

and yep you should definitely try the beef hor fun in geylang..superb! the frog leg porridge there is very well-known too. and so is the claypot rice.

Ohhhh tang yuan! that’s it.. my cousin kept repeating it and I coudln’t remember πŸ˜› I only like the peanut-filling one though!

Frogs legs… i think i’m scared to eat em!

have you bought the bikini or any swimwear yet? call me boring but i prefer them to be all one shade or if not both top AND bottom to be non-plain together. you bet the GSS ain’t doing me any good, am so tempted to shop everytime the word “sale” appears in front of me!

ps: go try the oyster omelette at glutton bay (at esplanade area)!

I haven’t bought any swimwear yet.. deciding what to get πŸ˜› And yes, GSS is making me want to shop! But forunately I’ve only bought a ring and camera so far.. *whew*

Whereabouts is glutton bay?? I love the name, haha!

I can’t believe you’ve never tried so many of the yummy food in Singapore before, what have you been eating previously before you went to Australia? I am so craving for a nice thick glass of teh ping at the moment. Oh and btw, that plate of shellfish you posted is not cockles! They’re called lala in Singapore and known as pippis in Australia. :p

Yes… I used to be a terrible Singaporean. I NEVER ate SG food (save chicken rice and nasi lemak)! I only had Italian or western food… now in the past 6 months I’ve been to SG twice and had my first taste of SG food and I’m in love πŸ˜‰

Ohhhhhhh I never know the diff between all those shellfish, too many names, lol!!

Speaking of shellfish…. Yet another food recommendation by the resident jealous foodie…. have the beef horfun at that famous coffee shop at Geylang Lor 9(?) the beef is SO tender and i think they cook it with black beans and black pepper….. and order the mussels as well… it’s cooked the same way as the lala.. and don’t forget the deep fried yu tiao stuffed with fish cake (i think)…..

It’s right next to that famous soya bean coffee shop… which u MUST have after dinner… damn nice soya bean desserts!!!

Someone else just recommended horfun at Geylang too! Is that reaaaally far tho? I currently live at Farrer Court..

Eee I had yu tiao for breakfast yesterday morning, it was heavenly!!

you’re so funny. you lived on italian/western food while in singapore and now that you’re in australia you crave for singapore food. lol! but seriously the food is singapore is the best, just coz there’re so many different varieties plus they’re cheap! everytime before we head back my sister will start making a list of every single dish she has to have once she goes back. oh btw if you like beef hor fun go try the ones in geylang. πŸ™‚

I KNOW! I think I must’ve been a snobby kid or something.. just wanting nice dining. Now I’m the total opposite πŸ˜›

hehhe I make the same lists too!! Gotta get it all in before I go πŸ˜‰

I gotta try the horfun at Geylang now, you and both recommended it!

I think this is the first time in a long long time that I’m actually jealous of some one and it’s all because of the food!

damnit… i should really remove u from my friends’ list for the next two weeks so i don’t have food photos popping up when i view my friends’ page!!!! DAAAAAMNNNNN YOU!!!!

I want katong laksa!!! The prima one i’ve been making rocks… but it’s NOT THE SAME WITHOUT COCKLES!!!! oooohh… extra extra cockles!!! And the nasi lemak!!!! how good is that?!!! and how come u have oyster omelette? omg … i have the biggest craving for that right now… with the yummy chilli!!!

Damnit… i should stop torturing myself writing about food… anyway.. why don’t u get swimwear in sydney instead??? There are so many pretty ones here and at half the price! I used to get my bikinis at Tannlines when it was at mandarin hotel… ( i think it’s at wisma now) but it’s waaaaay cheaper here in sydney! They have wahine, aztec rose, etc!!!

ooops…. i meant, how come u didn’t have oyster omelette? ;-p

Oh yah, don’t forget to have black pepper crab & chilli crab!!! ;-p

Tee hee!! I do like looking at pics of SG food when I’m in AU… it makes me salivate but it also feels almost like I can smell/taste it πŸ˜‰

Oh i want oyster omelette!! I’ve never had it before.. it’s next on my list πŸ™‚

I looked in AU for a bit but didn’t see anything interesting.. and swimmers NEVER fit me properly ;(

what do u mean u’ve never had it?????!!! omg…. well.. if u go to chomp chomp at serangoon gardens for the kick-ass hokkien mee.. u MUST try the oyster omelette too… make sure u order the orh luak and not erm the oyster egg thingy… it’s fried differently…

heh, i wanna go bikini shopping too.. but somehow, when the weather’s freezing here, i don’t feel like buying them? I wanna buy stuff i can wear immediately and not wait mths!!! .. hahaha… but then.. when i’m back in hot sunny sg where there’s so much yummy food.. i wanna stuff myself silly and not worry abt how i look in a bikini! ;-p

I actually haven’t had SG food until in the past 6 months.. *hangs head in shame*

I always use to think it was naff and soooo local, so I never wanted to have it! That is, until I got really homesick living in AU and started to crave SG food.. now I love it πŸ˜›

Heh winter sales will be on for swimwear I think?? Best time to get it!

Ehh SAMEEEE!!! hahaha i used to be such an idiot… always prefered to eat at cafes and restaurants… but after i came over, i’m like dying for local food. I practically refuse to waste my time eating at cafes whenever i’m back now cuz i’ll much rather my stuffing my face at a hawker centre!! ;-p OH, another thing…. try the beef noodles with beef balls… at Newton… or any food court for that matter… the dried one with the blackish gravy is damn good…

Yup there are so many sales now… but i have so much work to do i don’t have time to shop!!! AARRRRRRGGGHHH…

Hehe I know.. i was snotty when I was young, I think.. always wanting air conditioning and ‘nice’ places πŸ˜› NOw I”m like, “Hawker centres are the best!!!!”
