heh I know way too many girls with those cheap knock-off bags 🙁 Good to see someone with the real thing! 🙂 I’m sure you would have read that LV etc are going after the knock-offs – because it’s one thing thwen they used to come out months after the real ones were in the shops, but since they’re coming out as soon as they hit the runways, they’re devaluing the real thing…

Yeah.. sometimes you kinda wonder why bother getting an authentic bag, when you can get a cheap one for half the price. But at the end of the day, even if no one can tell, i like the fact I’ve saved up to buy myself something lovely 🙂

Hi Beverly, I went to Alannah Hill Outlet today too but nothing really caught my eye.. As you said most of the sizes were 10+ and the stock were pretty old too! The prices were excellent though! And the boots are GORGEOUS! Too bad they didn’t have it in my size when I went (got there around 4pm).. definately gonna pay a visit in a couple of weeks though to see if they get new stocks!

Oh and didn’t you buy the LV Speedy 25 off E-Bay? I was going to bid as well but you beat me to it with BUY IT NOW, AUD$500 was such a bargain for an authentic LV purse with all the box, ribbons, carry-bag!! Gotta love E-Bay for the bargains!! 🙂

    • beverly posted on April 30, 2005 at 1:12 pm

Yeah the prices were amazing! Some weren’t too cheap, but there were some great bargains. I was there just before you! The guy said that more stock is coming in a couple of days (the store isn’t fully ready yet) and they’ll get new stock every season.

Hehe I bought the LV off a girl I knew, but asked her to put it on eBay so we could leave each other fb, hence the BIN 😛 Best to buy off someone you know, or someone you already know on eBay, so you know it’s authentic!

What?!?! Are you for real? I’m definately gonna be going back next week if they’re bringing new stocks in!! Birkenhead Point is only a 15 minutes drive from city so it’s not that far 🙂 Thanks for the great news!

Personally I am still hestitated about buying LVs off E-Bay. Not so much because I’m worried about its authenticity and all – I mean there’s mypoupette.com and you can always make sure its auth with reciepts etc but it’s just all so much hassle. I also found that on Australian E Bay the prices for auth LVs tend to sky-rocket, some even managed to come quite close to retail prices (within $1-200). I’d probably prefer going into a LV store and purchase from there, just for the whole experience and a piece of mind 🙂 I travel quite frequently so it’s even better to slash off the 10% GST…

By the way, Speedy 25 is the perfect size for you (looking at the photo). I prefer the 30 though simply because it fits more BUT I always feel like I’m carrying a brick instead of a handbag 😛

        • beverly posted on May 1, 2005 at 1:35 am

Is there a bus from the city to Birkenhead? I’m thinking I can go there after work on Thurs 😛

I buy LV off eBay when I know the person and she’s selling, and I ask her to list on eBay so we can get the feedback. Or anyone with a “my poupette recommended seller” logo is 100% safe! But yes, the authentic ones are really $$ in AU, and internationally they’re cheaper but you gotta watch out for customs!

If you’re tall the 30 would be fab! But I’m a short ass so the 25 already looks big 😛

You could catch 500 series to Victoria Road and it’s a short walk to the Outlet Centre. There’s also a ferry service stop at BK Point if a little bit of cruising along the harbour tickles your fancy 🙂

The best way to get there is by car I guess – even though the traffic can be really REALLY bad during peak hours.

            http://www.birkenheadpoint.com.au/gettinghere.amx

I still can’t get over the fact that LV increases its retail price by around 5% every six months! I KNOW it’s mainly because of the strong EUROS but COME ON! Apparently the cheapest place to get LV is in Germany because of the high tax refunds! NOW we all know where to head to for our next holiday break! 🙂

          • beverly posted on May 1, 2005 at 11:37 am

Ahhh thanks! I might go next weekend by car, seems like it’s easiest :X

Yes the thing I just hate about LV is the price increase.. just purposely pushing it up for the heck of it, I reckon ;(

I think we just broke the top of the bottle against a table…it was actually harder than we thought to break that sucker! We may have ended up taking it to our back yard to break against the concrete. Just be careful you don’t cut yourself with the glass!!

Ahhh thanks! I might go next weekend by car, seems like it’s easiest :X

Yes the thing I just hate about LV is the price increase.. just purposely pushing it up for the heck of it, I reckon ;(

Wow Bev, 500 bucks for that Speedy is a very good deal, no? It’s close to new. You always get the best deals! When i do search on Ebay Australia for LV products, 9 pages appear but sad to say they’re 99% fake fake fake. Only 1-2 auctions (those from Aussie) are authentic.

    • beverly posted on May 1, 2005 at 6:19 am

Yeah it was in perfect new condition 🙂 It was torture waiting for 2 days to pick it up at the store though! i kept calling the SA and going “Can I pick it up yet?” lol

Look for auctions with a “my poupette recommended seller” logo stamp, those are 100% authentic 🙂

I had some of those Japanese drinks too in the United States. Instead of lemonade, it was some sort of clear fruity soda. My brothers and I were pretty fascinated with the marble too! We broke a few bottles just to collect the marbles inside =Þ

I absolutely LOVE the flowered heels!!!! AND the skirt!!!! I can’t wait to start making a living so I can start to spoil myself. ‘Til then, I’ll just continue to live vicariously through your posts! ^__~

I think it’s the same thing! they just call it “japanese lemonade” but it’s clear soda with this fruity/bubblegum taste. so yum :)~ Do you have to break the entire bottle to get to the glass ball?? I’m going to have one now and see if I can get it out 😛

Oh right! Okay, yeah then it must be the same thing. Except the design on the bottle is slightly different. The one I had had a cartoon whale on it 🙂 But YES!!! It’s sooooo yummy. Now I have a craving for it too 😉

I think we just broke the top of the bottle against a table…it was actually harder than we thought to break that sucker! We may have ended up taking it to our back yard to break against the concrete. Just be careful you don’t cut yourself with the glass!!

Hey, I’m glad you’ve finally tried the Japanese restaurant…hope you weren’t disappointed. I say that since I think the restaurant has changed hands (I’m not 100% certain though), I’ll have to go back there sometime and see if the old owners are still there and just went on a holiday.

However saying that I think the food is still decent. You gotta try the soft shell crab if they still have it next time…
