My First Post πŸ™‚

Wow, you have been busy since I last read your journal!

Major grats on the ferret first of all. It’s a natural pet for you, and you will be thrilled to hear they live many years longer than mice. They can be trained to sit on your shoulder, wrapped around your neck like a fur collar, and you can then take them outside and they will go anywhere with you. πŸ™‚ it will also grow a lot and ultimately become 2-3 times the size it is now and will obviously be easier to wear as a fur collar then.

The apartment looks awesome! I am sure it’s worth the extra money as you are getting more amenities, you are closer to work so gain more free time, and you will have more security and more space.

The trip to Singapore looked amazing. I can’t believe it has been three years since you were last there. I have some questions about the hawker food places. First of all, is all food in Singapore so cheap, or just in those places? And does the quality of what you are served vary in terms of food safety and potentially getting sick? I know in Thailand eating from street vendors is considered risky and while these are a step above street vendors and have permanent spots in a building, I was curious about that. Also, how much of what is sold there can you get in Australia? I have never seen most of those dishes available anywhere I have lived in the USA and I have had Chinese food in some 40 states and sushi in some 35 states, etc. I will have to really hunt for restaurants that serve Singapore fare in the USA as I am dying to try quite a bit of what you photographed. The few things that are available here seem much more authentic there. Shark Fin Soup here is just not the same at all, and the dumplings here are often more dough than meat and fish whereas all of the portions of everything in your photos have far more fish and meat than filler.

The company that makes bears for you while you wait in the USA is now in many major malls across the country. They have expanded to other animals besides bears. I think you can get pigs, cats, dogs, etc. They have a huge section of the store which has a wardrobe for your bear so once you buy the bear you can come back and buy it outfits for every holiday, every season, etc. They also have many songs you can get put into the bear so that it will play tunes, etc. It is easily possible to buy a fully loaded bear that costs well over $200. Most of the time I see more than one friend chipping in to buy someone one, or a family buying the child one with the grandparents kicking in some goodies for it too at the same time. It is VERY hard to enter that store and not walk out wanting one.

As to Brad and Jennifer, whom you briefly mentioned, they have a bit more pressure on their every move than you and Chris which is one reason their relationship failed. They are also apart more which is never good. And so many couples grow apart as one wants one thing and the other starts to want something else entirely. You and Chris sit and talk to each other and discuss what you want. Brad and Jennifer spent so much time apart or with the media watching that they got less of a chance to talk face-to-face and each had to make decisions without the other. When they became involved he was probably as big a star as he is now, but she was not, right? So he had to deal with her rise in celebrity, her greatly increased income, and it’s no surprise she wants the chance to spend a few more years enjoying everything she has worked for and is finally getting a taste of. Just as if tomorrow Chris asked you to quit working for eBay, and give up the ferret and the apartment and go rent some farm and have a baby. Yes, they did discuss having a baby often enough, I’m sure, that it wouldn’t be as out of the blue as the scenario I just made up, but you can see where you would hestitate and want to keep Chris plus have the chance to enjoy the ferret and the work at eBay longer, etc. They hit an impasse that tore them apart and it’s very likely that he will get together with someone else pretty fast and have kids and then that relationship will not last, and that she will stay alone for awhile and miss him and what could have been.

Hey! Yeah I’m really pleased ferrets live longer.. then 1+ year lifespan of a mouse was not good πŸ™ I heard that Misty’ll calm down when she’s over a year old (an adult) – currently she can go really mental and hyper πŸ˜‰ She just can’t sit still! So adorable though.

Food in Singapore is generally pretty cheap. The hawker centres are wonderful though~ Also, the Singaporean government, being who they are and how paranoid they are, have super strict regulations for food, etc. It’s definitely and absolutely not like Thailand or countries where you have to worry about what you’re putting into your mouth! There are Singaporean food places here in AU but it’s really not the same.
