Bev, from a public health standpoint, we just need to figure out if someone is overweight or not. There has been much discussion over the years regarding the BMI and whether it is suitable for Asians as their build is different. I just saw an article that said that if you’re between 18.5 – 23, you’re fine and once you’re above 23, then you are considered overweight. So your weight is just ideal right now. Even though a person is super skinny, they might have cholestrol problems etc so just make sure you get enough exercise and eat moderately. Here’s a website that mentioned the Asian BMI controversy:

The easiest way for me to tell if under/overweight is to just LOOK at the person, I reckon it’s more accurate than all the BMI rubbish!

Asian frames are lighter anyway, think we have less dense bones or something. Those BMI charts don’t seem very accurate to me :X Too bad we can’t choose WHERE we want to put on weight!!
