Umm here’s how mine works. In outlook, go to View –> Go to –> News. This opens the outlook express news thingy, and you can then proceed from there. On the very top level in outlook express (ie, click on ‘outlook newsreader’ in the folders list) one of the options should be ‘set up a newsgroups account’. Then it should be a pretty simple matter of entering your news server (mine is news.veritel.com.au – it should be the same as your outgoing mail server but with ‘news’ instead of mail) and downloading the list of groups.

I know I didn’t explain that very well but I’m sure you can figure it out! I actually set it up myself recently, so if I can do it, I’m sure you’ll be able to.

That was EXACTLY what I was after *grin* Mine’s news.veritel.com.au as well

But the damn thing is that it’s not working.. gives me an error πŸ™ I’m using it via Mozilla’s Thunderbird email program though, so that could be why… *sigh*…

Hrmmm not sure about Thunderbird. Although I would have thought Mozilla would have been easier to configure, given how attached the ‘open source’ community is to bitching in newsgroups. πŸ˜‰

Yeah.. Outlook’s easier to configure than Mozilla when it comes to news groups, who would’ve thought, lol! I downloaded Thunderbird and Firefox @ work ‘cos I like them heaps better..
