I thought it sucked too….

Kinda cheap laughs….no real plot or anything…

Reminds me of Castaway…cept in an airport…

Tom Hanks has done muuuuch better movies…

that movie lacked serious plot and character development, and catherine zeta jones didn’t need to be in it, did you watch on dvd or something?
It is based on a true story but the Iranian man went to paris instead and much like the movie his country’s govt collapsed and in civil disaray. He had applied for citizen ship in belguim and approved but lost those documents and has been living in that airport for 9 years now? he’s still there. strange cause I was at that airport DeGaulle…strange how you could walk right by him and not even notice.

I thought the movie was great, especially since I’d expected a really plain boring storyline. I thought Tom Hanks was a great actor and Catherine Zeta Jones was just gorgeous, as usual πŸ˜‰
But of course it’s a Holloywood version.. the real story has it that the guy has been living there for about 10 years, as you said, and most likely there isn’t a way out for him πŸ™

bondi westfield

hi there,

I’m dying to know which stall is it that sells the laksa you mentioned! don’t you just love the foodcourt in bondi junction westfield? Great views and yummy food (I loooove that chocolate place they have the best waffles with strawberries!)

Re: bondi westfield

It’s that Asian store.. so if you walk INTO the food court, it’s on the right about mid-way. They sell all Chinese food so hopefully you won’t miss it πŸ˜› IT’s the one that you can choose different sorts of noodles and different sorts of sauces, etc..
I LOVE the chocolate place!! I have their liquid chocolate in the little cup, yum :)~

Suddenly 30

Suddenly 30 is very very funny. I think a lot of guys are a little hesitant to go and watch such a “chick flick” but all the guys I know have really enjoyed it.
You have to go and see it!

Re: Suddenly 30

Yeah Chris is adamantly refusing to watch it :T But it looks awesome and heck, it’s a COMEDY right? So I dont’ see why guys won’t like it too!

i saw the previews and thought ….’ hmmm ill give it the benefit of the doubt cos tom hanks is in it’ i havent seen it but from what ive heard, the movie has had great reviews. im looking forward to giving it a look see lol

I heard there is an Iranian man who is stuck in the Paris airport kinda like that.. (I haven’t seen the film but it came up in conversation). He was from Iran and he made the gov’t mad, so he was immigrating to Britain. Somehow his briefcase with all of his documents was lost when he reached his connection in Paris. And the French authorities would not allow him access to Paris nor could he continue on to Britain. They worked it out eventually where he could go home after a few years, if he had apologized. But he said screw that, and he lives in the airport. I think he’s been there about a decade now.

Yeah it’s based on a true story.. but when I read the review it said the movie was Hollywood-style, ie. happy ending.. but in real life it’s not a happy ending :T
