No BCBG here either.. we’re deprived. I wish we had Jimmy Choo here, I really want to actually look at the quality and detail in person before spending all that $$ online!

Hey Bev, have you stopped using Paula’s Choice products now, were they still working for you??

Nah I’ve been using them religiously for years – PC is still really good. But as of yesterday I stopped using the product and using SKII instead, I want to see if it makes my skin much different or if it’s pretty much the same.

Savings Account

If you want a savings account with 5% interest.. look no further than ING! ehehe.. Seriously.. they are the best.. I’ve been with them for over 3 years now, and their interest keeps increasing.. i think they started with 4.5% , then 4.75, than 5%! and now it’s 5.25%!!… and they pay you interest quarterly! and no bank fees at all!! But you can only transfer it back to your original account from ING

They used to have promotion from the msn website, where if you join through their link, they will deposit $20 into your account! Bargain or what!

and CC rocks haha.. i seriously can’t live without them… If I have no cc, I’ll probably be living on the streets till my next pay!

Re: Savings Account

Oooo that sounds good too.. I basically want something with high interest that I can earn, but still lets me withdraw my $$ instead of ‘locking’ it. I’m going to check out their website and see πŸ™‚ Thanks for the rec!

Ooo, I’m wanting to start on a new skincare brand, your post’s perfect timing…I’ve always heard that SKII’s stuff were good only if you followed thr’, ie. once you stop, wierd things happen to the face…eh, no right?

Is the Facial Treatment Mask good for ridding clogged pores? Mine does so pretty easily. Thanks a lot~! πŸ™‚

I totally recommend SKII! Be careful if you buy online though – there are a lot of pirated SKII with the same packaging πŸ™ That’s why I chose to just buy from the store – especially since they give lots of gwps and recommend you products too.

Am totally in love with the Milk and Repair C. They’re fantastic!! Going to use the products solid for a month and see what happens πŸ™‚

The Mask is for brightening skin I think.. haven’t used it yet though.

I LOVE SKII products. I have super sensitive skin and have not been able to use a lot of skincare products (Elizabeth Arden is one of the worst). But I tried my mum’s signs treatment cream as a moisturizer and it was really good and I didn’t break out with allergies! Did you try their facial packs? They’re pretty good too.

Yeah I heard SKII is really good for sensitive skin! Used it last night and this morning and my skin is seirously so smooth and nice. Haven’t used the facial mask yet, waiting for a special occasion since it’s so expsensive :X I *love* the Repair C serum!!

haha u are so cute! Sometimes Im like that too, act too fast and then realize opps! But thank God that you have a CC so that shd last you for a mth before you get next BIG pay! =)

And SKII is so expensive! I thought the new pdt with milk was rather interesting but I really don’t need anything else for my skincare regime since Im too lazy to use anything nowadays.

And the part abt tiny portions in fine dining restaurants.. you know what? I think its a gimmick. So that you end up ordering more side dishes or whatever and pay more.

I’m not sure if I like a CC.. i like seeing my $$ disappear straightaway if I buy something, don’t really like being on credit till the end of the month then being slapped with a whopping bill :T Oh well, see how it goes.

SKII is cheaper in SG, i found out πŸ™ But she wa so liberal with the gwps so I guess it’s ok. I just did the regime and can’t stop touching my face, it’s really smooth πŸ˜› It’s the Repair C, the product the girl wouldn’t sell me! Grrr. I KNEW it would work for me.

Heh. To be honest, I prefer hawker centers and food courts to fine dining most of the time.. the food just seems to taste better.

I know exactly what u mean. I used to love dining out in restaurants, but after i started coming to Sydney… man… the most ‘high-class’ place i wanna be at whenever i’m in Sg, is an air-conditioned food court. Give me hawker food any day!

Hahhahaha yeah, that’s what I mist the most about SG. Getting cheap food that’s REALLY good. I can get SG food here, but the ambience just isn’t the same πŸ™

Hahaha… me too. They tend to add more MSG perhaps?

And I actually think getting a CC is not good. Really. So many financial experts/whatever are always saying that if one really wants, get a debit card. Because humans always have a tendency to over-spend their limit or forget how much is left..

And one my old friends used to tell me he prefers slapping down a stack of hard cash on the coffeeshop table like those uncles who hang around. ;p

Why not use yr CC for other stuff like special discounts for fine dining or buying stuff? For the rest just use cash loh. Just my opinion. Cos that’s what my bf is doing. HE’s even hardworking enough to be a mini-accountant to whatever he spends. *rolls eyes*

Ohhh I really agree, I’m against cc’s as I HATE the thought of owing anyone anything.. and I don’t like spending, then getting slapped with a bill at the end of the month. I like seeing my $$ flowing out as I spend it.

But with my job I’ll be travelling and will need a cc.. also the ones I’m after give lots of benefits and discounts, so that’s an incentive πŸ˜›

I still have my direct debit card – using that to buy/sell over the internet as I think it’s safer than using a cc!

yes definitely! I once used my bf’s CC for some stupid yahoo hoax and he had to cancel it. If it was debit card it will have been diff. =(

Oh dear … it’s best you hear this from an expert – getting a credit card is the beginning of the end. =P I started by only buying things I had enough in cash to cover (and then putting the cash in a special jar), then before I knew it I was saying things like “I only need to spend another $2000 to get the $100 David Jones voucher”.

On the plus side, my $100 David Jones voucher is in the mail! =D

On the minus side, so is my credit card bill. =(

hahahahahah you’re nuts πŸ˜› I must NOT fall into the trap of getting into debt or anything though. Worried about the fact that I can spend without seeing the money going out, until end of the month when they give me a killer bill.

You should be able to link your credit card to your netbank though, so you can keep track of it regularly. I’d also second what someone said above about HSBC – I actually use ING Direct (very similar deal) – but either ING or HSBC would be heaps better than a 3%/no-withdrawal account. ING also pays interest monthly which is always really nice… I check it and I’m like, hey, where did that random $30 come from? Oooh – interest.
So yeah.

OMG!!! I wish I knew about all these savings accounts earlier πŸ™ I spent 4 yrs in AU and proabably earned a grand total of 10 bucks interest. Dyou know the difference between ING and HSBC? The only thing I”m worried about ING is that you can’t have a cc with them (I think?) and I don’t want to have a savings acc with one bank, and a cc with another..

But GEEZ. I can’t believe I can earn 3+% interest and I ONLY DISCOVERED THIS A FEW DAYS AGO.

LOL yeah I’d be surprised if you earned a few cents interest on a normal account, let alone $10! I don’t know much about HSBC but I know that you have to have a normal account linked to your ING account, whereas maybe HSBC will actually let you use the account there as a main account.

I actually prefer to keep my savings separate though, it adds up heaps faster that way! I use my normal commonwealth account for cash/credit card/getting paid in/managing bills and rent etc, and just get a set amount deducted to ING every fortnight. Anyway, have fun earning interest. πŸ™‚

Hi Bev,

You can definitely get a separate Credit Card with HSBC, their Visa Classic Card also has Rewards Points so that you claim stuff after a period of time. Good thing about the HSBC Online savings account is that you can use their ATMs unlimited without charge – not sure how ING works. Besides you can find a HSBC branch almost anywhere in the world if you had to travel. Actually I’ve got both since like you, I prefer to have all my accounts (though separate) with the one institution. I reckon they should pay me some commission for giving them a plug =)!

Actually I’m not even sure if you’ve already joined up with ING or HSBC, but hope this info helps!

Robbie

Hey Robbie – I was so keen on HSBC but then they were so damn fussy and wanted all these docs signed, so I just said STUFF IT! So I went with ING instead that didn’t hardly require anything πŸ˜› Thanks for your comments though – without you I wouldn’t have realised all these other banks offer such great deals!

Hey Beverly, I should give a plug for the HSBC Online Savings Account. It gives you 4.50% PA and doesn’t penalise you if you make a withdrawl within that month. Great thing also, is that they give you unlimited ATM withdrawls from HSBC’s own ATMs – without charge (though there aren’t that many around) and 5 free withdrawls from non-HSBC ATMs per month. So if you want an account with high interest and the flexibility then this is the best account I’ve seen being offered.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo…………. now why didn’t you give me that advice last week! I just saved all the info on the website – most likely will sign up on Monday and transfer my Westpac accounts to that instead. Thanks for letting me know, it’s HEAPS better, you’re right πŸ™‚

I’m pretty honest as a sales clerk at work. I don’t work on comission or anything, and I don’t sell cosmetics and skin care products. But I’m willing to tell someone that what they’re considering is a potential waste of money lol

Oh I thought sales was always based on comissions! Maybe that’s why she was just honest. Well, at least it was nice of her not to convince me to buy every single full-sized item, lol

Savings Account

Hey Beverly, I should give a plug for the HSBC Online Savings Account. It gives you 4.50% PA and doesn’t penalise you if you make a withdrawl within that month. Great thing also, is that they give you unlimited ATM withdrawls from HSBC’s own ATMs – without charge (though there aren’t that many around) and 5 free withdrawls from non-HSBC ATMs per month. So if you want an account with high interest and the flexibility then this is the best account I’ve seen being offered.

Re: Savings Account
