Let's Chat!

The top sun roof cost HEAPS to put on, so I didn’t want it.. I’ll survive without so I don’t want to pay extras, ‘cos I”ll sell the car in a couple of years if/when I move back to Singapore anyway. It IS cute though!

I had a Honda Jazz for about a year before exchanging it for a Nissan Micra. It’s a very nice car indeed although personally I think it’s a bit big for a beginner. However, you couldn’t have a sleeker car and it’ll definitely be a good incentive for you to pass your test I guess πŸ˜‰

And I agree with the comment someone posted above – I’m Catholic and have been to churches all over the world, and most do have guides for what you should do (although I guess I probably don’t pay much attention to them, as it’s mostly second nature to me). Just be thankful you weren’t at a service in Italy, where it’s all in Latin – now that *is* confusing!

Glad you’ve had a good Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Why did you get the NIssan Micra instead? I don’t think I’ve heard of it.. I was going to get the Echo which is much smaller, but it was only 1k less and the finishings just looked cheaper than the Jazz, so I figured for 1k more, I might as well get the Jazz – which means my parents can fit in comfortably when they come and visit πŸ™‚

I’ve only been to 1 Catholic church and it’s 90% old people so I guess they’ve been going there for years and don’t need a guide! but the service is much shorter than my Christian church, which is good when it’s past midnight and you’re tired πŸ˜‰

Hope you had a great Christmas and NY!!!

I got the Micra when I left home for university where parking is much harder, and the streets are much busier, than at home – and also the Micra is cheaper to insure – very important in England where insurance is the most expensive thing about owning a car πŸ˜‰ It’s a really popular car in Europe, but guess perhaps it’s not available in Australia like it’s not in the US..? You’re right though, usually I just have me and maybe one other person in my car. But if you’re going to need to take other people in your car the Jazz is better just for that bit of extra legroom!

I never knew the Catholic service was considered ‘short’ – that’s pretty cool but I’ve never really been to any other Christian services other than Catholic except for things like weddings. Out of interest what branch of Christianity do you follow – Methodist??

I had a great holiday thanks and it sounds like you did too! Love those pics of your work do by the way!!

Your car sounds cool… mine had REALLY expensive insurance – probably because I’m a new driver and young :((( But then my friend’s was a little over AU$6’000 insurance, so I felt much better after hearing that!

Oh I’m Presbyterian btw, very similar to Anglican πŸ™‚

They didn’t.. I bought it with my own savings (very proud of myself!) πŸ™‚ But they did pay for my car insurance – it cost heaps ‘cos I’m young and a new driver :T

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW CAR!!!!!!!
haha my parents got me my car before i got my license too, and it was kinda just sitting there, looking all pretty before i could drive it. but yeah! WOOHOO!
personally, it looks like the Toyota Matrix to me. heh but way cool.
like silentjess said, you should definitely get the sunroof option, that’s the only thing missing on my car and i really wanna get one put in.
once again, congrats bev! yay new cars; you have you name yours!
merry [belated?] christmas and a happy new year!!

HEhe getting a car first gives you a great incentive to get your license, so it works out πŸ˜‰ Isn’t it fun to have a car though?? I gotta think of cool names now…
Hope you had a great Christmas and NY!

what a great way to start a new year – having your own car! it’s so cute! impressed that you could get the price down so low. good bargaining skill you have πŸ™‚ anyway, happy new year to you (& chris)!

Yeah it’s nice having a new car to start the year, and will soon have a new apartment too! Feels like such a fresh start πŸ™‚ Hope you have a WONDERFUL year too!

I thought cars were sold worldwide? BUt maybe they released it only in asia-pacific or something.. It’s cute though – it’s considered a small car but has 4 days and is a pretty large small car, so it should fit in the whole family nicely πŸ™‚

oh, but there IS a guide..
churches here have it anyway πŸ˜›

its ok – im a roman catholic
and sometimes i just follow what the others do too! πŸ™‚

Yeah my church (Christian) back in SG has a guide too.. it was probably just this one πŸ˜‰ I was getting sooo confused ‘cos people kept standing and sitting every 5 mins!

*eyes bug*
44k??!! The Jazz is considered a cheap small car as it is.. but at 44k it becomes a pretty expensive car :T I wonder why it’s so expensive.. or maybe all cars in Malaysia are just expensive like in Singapore?

Yeah..we have pretty high taxes here so cars are quite expensive but no where as expensive as in Singapore. If I live in Sydney, I’ll definitely get a VW Beetle or a Mini Cooper which cost RM200,000 (AUD80,000)!!!

The Beetle here is about 40k i think, which is pretty expensive ‘cos you can get a much larger car for the same price. but 80k? NO way!

I just pestered the guy until he had no choice πŸ˜› Plus it was me doing the bargaining so I can be more insistent without looking like a cheap ass – cos obviously I’m young so I don’t have much money! WHereas if my parents did it the guy’ll be thinking why they have to quibble over 500 bucks if they’re middle-aged and obviously already have saved money!

sounds like a great christmas!

did you buy that car or did your parents buy it for you? it’s so pretty!

That is SO EXCITING!! I am still saving up for my first car.. but it makes such a world of difference when you don’t have to take public transportation anymore. My ex-boyfriend used to let me drive his car around, and I swear it was so depressing going back on the bus after we broke up. hahaha.

Glad you had a great holiday, babe. I wish you, your family (and Chris!) every happiness in the new year. xxoo

*lol* the benefits of having a bf with a car πŸ˜‰ I’m hassling Chris to get his license so he can drive too.. it’s a bit weird having me in the driver’s seat every time we go out, IMHO!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and NY and happy 2004!!

Wow, sounds like a great holiday! I crashed my friend’s party (she did invite me but I was the only non-family member there) and we had some great baked spicey lamb chops, baked potatoes (real crispy outside and fluffy inside) and a great creamy salad dip. We had sparkling grape juice instead of red wine, then hung around to exchange presents and played board games. It was my first real Christmas party, so that was really cool since my family doesn’t celebrate anything. Really miss my family, especially my mom, though they can be a pain sometimes.

When you do go back to work? I’m just bumming around till semester starts in March, which is real boring since most of my friends start work soon.

Ooh, we should get KK next time we go out. I want to go to Paramatta Westfield (dying to buy a new ball gown or a little black dress even though I don’t need it and don’t have anywhere to wear it to). It’s near Liverpool so it’ll be on the way. Maybe we can do it in your new car! I wanted to get a Jazz for my younger sister (it was 19K back then when it first surfaced) but never got to test drive it. Good luck for your driving test!

D.

I kinda crashed Chris’ family too ‘cos they spent NYE together and I went along.. but oh well πŸ˜› It was fun anyhow! I had sparkling grape juice on NYE and it’s *so* much better than wine (which makes me feel sick).. I’m always going to have it from now on.

Ahhh I didn’t take any time offf work so I’m working unless there’s a public holiday of course. My parents are here ’till mid-Jan though, so it’s really good. Mum has banned me from eating KK doughnuts *lol* Once I pass, we’ll definitely have to go for a spin in my car!

Yeah it’ll be *heaps* more convenient and I’ll save so much time! But of course it comes with a price because having a car costs so much more than public transport :X
