Well, I’m in my last sem in Computing in NUS & I so agree with u on the useless bit. But as the lecturers & tutors & seniors who’ve gone before us like to say, in uni, they just prepare u with the basics. U’re suppose to gain ur own knowledge urself. It does make it pretty much a paper chase, tho they would like u to believe that they’re suppose to help instill the sense of initiative for self-improvement.

Enjoy ur Oct. It’s a really meaningful one indeed. U’ll get to have ur parents to celebrate ur hatchday with u?

God bless,
Sain’t

I think Uni teaches responsibility.. but I found that a lot of the work I did is useless in real life. But oh well, at least it’s over! πŸ™‚

My parents are leaving just before my bday :(((

Hey Beverly:P Even though I have NO idea what you are talking about…LOL…I’m glad that you’re having FUN:) at work. And all the best for your graduation:)

eeks! i think i have enough of programming in uni. i hope i won’t have much programming to do when i finally get moving and start applying for jobs. then again you do get a huge sense of satisfaction after writing a good program. πŸ˜‰

Unless you apply for a programmer’s position, you won’t be doing much programming.. I never liked doing it at Uni but it’s MUCH more fun and rewarding to do it in the office, and so different to what we’re used to doing at Uni!

true. anyway did you get my reply to your email? just wanna check coz my email server has been giving me problems since yesterday afternoon.

seriouse?

Hi im doin my hsc now and jst read ya comment on how uselss it is. tel me more! does that mean uni is crap and we all should head strait for thw work place? or did uni actuallu taught u some other skills maybe fwend?

Re: seriouse?

Depends on the person.. I didn’t really like the lack of attention at Uni and I found it a bit tiresome, because I found it didn’t teach me many things I’d need to know out in the work force. Lots of corporations nowadays don’t hire you if you don’t have a degree though, or it takes you twice as long to get somewhere a person with a degree would take. I guess it’s all personal choice!

Re: AND…

I like them fancy eyes. They’re very cute. When I get a little time, I’ll have to figure out what I can do to cute up my journal. I need me some gooly eyes, or something expressive.
