may i make a suggestion

now please take in mind i am 40, i was crippled in 1989 in a car accident and taught myself through pain how to walk again.. and last july 24 got a new hip to replace the destroyed one from the accident.. for odd and possibly quick relief.. soak a brown paper bag in vinegar and hold in on your back for a couple of hours..

it should help with the pain…

i have no idea why, but the local pineys said to do this years ago and it helped..

the other thing, cut back on greasy, (meaning fried), foods.. carbonated drinks, chocolate and fats.. just for 3 weeks, see how you feel and if it works, stop as long as you can and when you break it, try to settle back into it again..

i know being a chinese in australia, this will be hard.. just try it, see if it works..

Er.. you just cut out my entire diet πŸ˜‰ D’oh! But does the vinegar thing really work? I dont have any vinegar here but I’m definitely going to have to think about that for next time! Congrats on your hip replacement – the accident sounds really painful πŸ™

Is a doc or chiro better? Apparently a chiro will try to massave and contort you to ease the pain, which is supposed to be really bad if it’s actually a slipped disc or something!

hey bev,

yvonne again, who posted in your earlier diary post. with regards to you cleaning the house 3 weeks ago, i wouldn’t write off that as the reason for your pain esp. if that same area was hurting after u finished cleaning the house. i suggest u bring that up to the doctor. strongly encourage u to go see one to get some peace of mind and of course, to help u be back in shape to study for finals again.

all the best and take care!

Yeah I’ll remember to do that.. also I’ve been sitting in Chris’ office at Uni to study and the swivel chair there sucks and kinda tilts you forward when you sit on it (can’t adjust) and I’ve been sitting there every day for the past 2-3 weeks, so he thinks the strain and stress on my back sitting that way could have done it.. I’ll let the doc know that too! Thanks so much for your help *hugs* πŸ™‚

Pls take extra care Bev, back related problems are NEVER to be triffled with. With the exams, I’m sure you can ask them for some sort of special consideration?
